Key Responsibilities

The Senior FLS Engineer will play a pivotal role in leading and executing safety engineering initiatives across Parsons’ diverse portfolio of projects. Your core responsibilities will include:

• Safety Leadership: Provide expert guidance on FLS principles, ensuring all engineering activities adhere to rigorous safety standards and regulatory requirements. Lead the development and implementation of safety protocols tailored to project-specific needs.
• Risk Assessment & Mitigation: Conduct comprehensive risk assessments to identify potential hazards and implement proactive mitigation strategies. Utilize advanced tools and methodologies to evaluate risks and recommend corrective actions to minimize operational disruptions.
• Compliance & Standards: Ensure full compliance with local and international safety regulations, including OSHA, ISO, and industry-specific standards. Collaborate with regulatory bodies to maintain alignment with evolving safety mandates.
• Project Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including project managers, engineers, and field personnel, to integrate safety considerations into every phase of project execution. Foster a culture of safety awareness and accountability throughout the organization.
• Training & Development: Mentor junior engineers and safety professionals, providing training on FLS best practices, hazard recognition, and emergency response protocols. Promote continuous learning to enhance team competency in safety management.
• Technical Documentation: Prepare detailed safety reports, risk assessments, and compliance documentation. Maintain accurate records of safety incidents, investigations, and corrective actions to support audits and regulatory reviews.

Qualifications & Experience

To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Safety Management, or a related field. A Master’s degree or professional certifications (e.g., CSP, CIH, or equivalent) are highly desirable.
• Experience: Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in FLS engineering, with at least 5 years in a senior or leadership role. Experience in the oil & gas, energy, or industrial sectors is preferred.
• Technical Proficiency: In-depth knowledge of FLS methodologies, risk assessment tools, and safety management systems. Familiarity with industry-specific software (e.g., HAZOP, LOPA) is a plus.
• Regulatory Knowledge: Strong understanding of local and international safety regulations, including OSHA, ISO 45001, and NFPA standards. Experience working in the Middle East is advantageous.
• Soft Skills: Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving abilities. Ability to influence stakeholders at all levels and drive a safety-first culture within the organization.
• Nationality: Must be a Saudi national.
