Telecommunications & Security Engineer

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Telecommunications & Security Engineer to join our dynamic team at IDOM in Riyadh. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining robust telecommunications and security infrastructure to ensure seamless connectivity, data protection, and operational efficiency across our organization. Your expertise will be instrumental in safeguarding critical systems while enabling high-performance communication networks that support our business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Network Design & Implementation: Develop, deploy, and optimize telecommunications networks, including VoIP, data, and wireless systems, to meet evolving business requirements while adhering to industry best practices and regulatory standards.
• Security Architecture & Compliance: Design and enforce comprehensive security policies, protocols, and controls to mitigate risks, prevent unauthorized access, and ensure compliance with international security frameworks such as ISO 27001, NIST, and GDPR.
• System Monitoring & Maintenance: Proactively monitor network performance, security alerts, and system health using advanced tools and methodologies to identify vulnerabilities, troubleshoot issues, and implement corrective measures promptly.
• Incident Response & Recovery: Lead the investigation and resolution of security incidents, breaches, or network disruptions, coordinating with cross-functional teams to restore operations and minimize downtime while documenting lessons learned for future prevention.
• Vendor & Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with internal stakeholders, third-party vendors, and service providers to evaluate, procure, and integrate telecommunications and security solutions that align with organizational goals and budgetary constraints.
• Training & Awareness: Conduct regular training sessions and awareness programs to educate employees on cybersecurity best practices, secure communication protocols, and compliance obligations to foster a culture of security awareness.
• Continuous Improvement: Stay abreast of emerging technologies, industry trends, and regulatory changes in telecommunications and cybersecurity, recommending and implementing innovative solutions to enhance system resilience and operational efficiency.

Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field. Advanced degrees or professional certifications (e.g., CISSP, CCNP, CompTIA Security+) are highly desirable.
• Proven experience (5+ years) in telecommunications engineering, network administration, or cybersecurity, with a track record of designing and securing complex systems in enterprise environments.
• In-depth knowledge of telecommunications protocols (e.g., SIP, VoIP, MPLS), security frameworks, and compliance standards, coupled with hands-on experience with firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs, and encryption technologies.
• Proficiency in network monitoring tools (e.g., Wireshark, SolarWinds), SIEM solutions, and scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) for automation and threat detection.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders and collaborate effectively in a team-driven environment.
• Certifications such as Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), or Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) are a plus.
