About the Role

We are looking for a dedicated and results-driven Data Governance Specialist to join our team at Reef Group in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining robust data governance frameworks that align with industry-leading standards and regulatory requirements. As a key contributor to our data transformation initiatives, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to embed governance best practices into daily operations, enhance data quality and security, and foster a culture of accountability and transparency. Key Responsibilities

• Framework Development and Maintenance: Establish and refine data governance frameworks in accordance with DAMA (Data Management Association) principles, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and industry best practices.
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to NDMO (National Data Management Office) and SADAIA (Saudi Data & AI Authority) regulations, as well as other relevant guidelines, to mitigate risks and maintain organizational compliance.
• Metadata and Data Lineage Management: Lead initiatives related to metadata management, data lineage tracking, and data cataloging to enhance visibility, traceability, and usability of enterprise data assets.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with IT, business intelligence, and operational teams to integrate governance practices into workflows, ensuring consistent application of policies and standards across all departments.
• Data Quality and Security Oversight: Monitor data quality, security protocols, and compliance across systems, identifying gaps and implementing corrective measures to uphold data integrity and protect sensitive information.
• Governance Reporting and Analytics: Develop and maintain dashboards and reporting mechanisms to track governance key performance indicators (KPIs), providing actionable insights to stakeholders and leadership.
• Training and Awareness: Deliver training sessions and workshops to educate teams on data governance best practices, fostering a culture of data literacy and accountability throughout the organization.
• Process Optimization: Continuously evaluate and enhance governance processes to improve efficiency, scalability, and alignment with evolving business and regulatory requirements.

Required Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Data Management, Information Systems, Information Technology, or a related field. Advanced certifications in data governance or management are a plus.
• Professional Experience: Minimum of 3 to 7 years of hands-on experience in Data Governance, Data Management, or related fields, with a proven track record of implementing governance frameworks in enterprise environments.
• Technical Proficiency: Strong working knowledge of the DAMA framework and practical experience with NDMO and SADAIA regulations. Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Azure, Microsoft Fabric, or Dynamics 365 (D365) is advantageous.
• Industry Experience: Prior experience in the retail sector, particularly in fashion and perfume industries, is highly desirable, enabling you to understand the unique data challenges and opportunities in this domain.
• Soft Skills: Exceptional analytical, communication, and collaboration skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, actionable insights for diverse stakeholders. Strategic thinking and a data-driven mindset are essential.
• Language Proficiency: Fluency in both Arabic and English (written and spoken) is required to effectively engage with internal teams and external stakeholders.
