Financial Director

Position Overview

We are seeking a seasoned and strategic Financial Director to lead the financial operations of our organization. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for shaping and executing the company’s financial strategy, ensuring fiscal stability, and providing executive leadership with critical insights to drive informed decision-making. The ideal candidate will possess a strong blend of financial acumen, leadership expertise, and regulatory compliance knowledge to guide the organization toward sustainable growth and profitability.

Key Responsibilities

The Financial Director will play a central role in the following areas:

• Strategic Financial Leadership:
  • Develop and implement a robust financial strategy that aligns with the company’s long-term business objectives and growth aspirations.
  • Lead the annual budgeting process in collaboration with department heads, ensuring alignment with strategic goals while monitoring cost variances and financial performance.
  • Oversee cash flow management to maintain optimal liquidity, ensuring the company meets its financial obligations with confidence and efficiency.
• Financial Reporting & Analysis:
  • Supervise the preparation of precise and compliant financial statements, including the Balance Sheet, Profit & Loss Statement, and Cash Flow Statement, in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
  • Deliver comprehensive financial reports and data-driven analytical insights to the CEO and Board of Directors, enabling strategic decision-making and performance evaluation.
  • Conduct in-depth financial analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and risks, providing actionable recommendations to enhance operational efficiency and profitability.
• Compliance, Governance & Risk Management:
  • Ensure full adherence to tax regulations, Zakat requirements, and local financial laws, mitigating legal and financial risks associated with non-compliance.
  • Proactively identify, assess, and manage financial risks, implementing robust internal controls and mitigation strategies to safeguard the organization’s assets and reputation.
  • Coordinate and oversee internal and external financial audits, collaborating with certified auditors to ensure transparency, accuracy, and regulatory compliance.
• Capital & Funding Management:
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with banks, lenders, and investors to secure competitive financing structures and funding solutions that support business expansion.
  • Conduct thorough feasibility studies and evaluate capital investment opportunities to drive sustainable growth and maximize shareholder value.
• Team Leadership & Development:
  • Provide mentorship, guidance, and professional development opportunities to the Finance and Accounting team, fostering a high-performance culture and ensuring operational excellence.
  • Lead by example, promoting accountability, integrity, and collaboration across the department to achieve collective and individual goals.

Qualifications & Skills

To excel in this role, candidates must demonstrate the following competencies and qualifications:

• Language Proficiency: Full fluency in both Arabic and English, with exceptional written and verbal communication skills to effectively engage with stakeholders at all levels.
• Technical Expertise: Deep understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), corporate taxation frameworks, and financial compliance regulations.
• Leadership & Strategic Thinking: Advanced strategic leadership capabilities, coupled with strong negotiation skills and the ability to analyze complex financial data to inform executive decisions.
• Technological Proficiency: Extensive experience with enterprise-level accounting software and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems to streamline financial processes and enhance reporting accuracy.

Education & Experience

Applicants should hold a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Professional certifications such as CPA, CFA, or ACCA are highly desirable. A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in financial management, with a proven track record in strategic financial leadership, is essential for success in this role.
