Key Responsibilities

You will lead the design and implementation of sophisticated API management solutions, ensuring they meet the demands of complex, large-scale enterprise environments. Your responsibilities will include:

• Architecting Scalable API Solutions: Design and implement enterprise-grade API platforms using IBM API Connect, focusing on scalability, high availability, and performance to support mission-critical business operations.
• Defining API Governance Frameworks: Establish comprehensive standards, naming conventions, design guidelines, and reusable patterns to govern the entire API lifecycle—from initial design and development to deployment, monitoring, versioning, and eventual retirement.
• Enhancing API Security: Develop and enforce robust security policies, including authentication (OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect), authorization, rate limiting, throttling, and access controls, ensuring APIs are resilient against modern cyber threats.
• Integrating Diverse Systems: Design seamless API integrations with internal applications, external systems, and third-party services, modernizing legacy architectures while maintaining backward compatibility and performance.
• Collaborating Across Teams: Partner closely with architecture, engineering, cybersecurity, and DevOps teams to align API solutions with broader enterprise technology strategies, ensuring consistency and interoperability.
• Driving Continuous Improvement: Analyze business and technical requirements to translate them into innovative API architectures, leveraging best practices in microservices, RESTful design, and modern integration patterns.
• Ensuring Compliance and Best Practices: Conduct formal API architecture reviews, enforce governance policies, and advocate for standards that enhance reliability, maintainability, and security across the API ecosystem.
