Legal Counsel – Strategic Legal Advisor for S-Chem and Affiliated Entities

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Legal Counsel to join our dynamic legal team, where you will play a pivotal role in safeguarding our business interests, ensuring regulatory compliance, and providing expert legal guidance across all facets of operations. As a key member of the Legal Department, you will collaborate closely with senior management, internal stakeholders, and external partners to mitigate risks, optimize contractual agreements, and uphold the highest standards of legal integrity.

In this position, you will leverage your legal expertise to drive informed decision-making, foster transparent negotiations, and maintain robust documentation while adhering to both local and international legal frameworks. Your strategic insights will be instrumental in shaping policies, resolving disputes, and ensuring seamless compliance with evolving regulations—including Zakat, VAT, tax, and insurance obligations.

Key Responsibilities

• Strategic Legal Advisory: Deliver comprehensive legal counsel on contracts, agreements, and commercial transactions to protect S-Chem’s interests, minimize liability, and prevent regulatory conflicts. Provide actionable insights to support business growth while mitigating legal risks.
• Contractual Excellence: Draft, review, and negotiate critical legal documents—including commercial agreements, operational policies, and corporate governance frameworks—to ensure alignment with business objectives and legal standards.
• Compliance & Risk Mitigation: Lead compliance initiatives, conduct internal investigations, and collaborate with the General Counsel to develop risk-aware policies that align with local laws, internal procedures, and global best practices.
• Dispute Resolution & Litigation Support: Assist in managing legal disputes through negotiation, mediation, or litigation, conducting thorough case evaluations, and devising resolution strategies to safeguard S-Chem’s reputation and financial interests.
• External Stakeholder Engagement: Represent S-Chem in negotiations with counterparties, vendors, suppliers, and external legal counsel, ensuring clear communication and mutually beneficial outcomes while maintaining confidentiality.
• Market & Regulatory Research: Conduct in-depth legal research on industry trends, regulatory changes, and commercial practices to inform strategic decisions, policy development, and operational compliance.
• Documentation & Record Management: Maintain meticulous records of legal and commercial documents, ensuring adherence to standard operating procedures and data protection protocols.
• Collaborative Leadership: Partner with the General Counsel and cross-functional teams to address ad-hoc legal challenges, fostering a culture of proactive risk management and ethical governance.

Qualifications & Experience

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Law (or equivalent qualification) from a recognized institution.
• Professional Experience: Minimum of 2–3 years of post-qualification experience (total of 4–5 years, including training) in legal practice, with a focus on commercial, corporate, or regulatory law.
• Licensure: Licensed to practice as a lawyer or attorney-at-law in Saudi Arabia, or an equivalent qualification recognized in another jurisdiction.
• Technical Proficiency: Proven experience in drafting, negotiating, and reviewing international commercial agreements, cross-border transactions, and regulatory compliance documents.
• Language Skills: Fluent in English, with the ability to analyze and communicate complex legal concepts in both written and verbal formats.
• Soft Skills: Exceptional analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills; strong attention to detail; and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, multinational environment.
