At Al-Futtaim Group, we are a dynamic, privately held conglomerate with a legacy spanning nearly a century. As one of the most diversified and forward-thinking regional businesses headquartered in Dubai, UAE, we operate across five key divisions—automotive, financial services, real estate, retail, and healthcare—while partnering with over 200 of the world’s most innovative global brands. Our commitment to entrepreneurship, customer-centricity, and operational excellence has enabled us to thrive across more than 20 countries in the Middle East, Asia, and Africa, empowering over 35,000 employees to deliver exceptional value to our customers every day.
Guided by our core values of respect, excellence, collaboration, and integrity, we are seeking a highly motivated Area Manager to lead administrative functions, ensure compliance, and drive operational efficiency across our retail stores. This pivotal role offers the opportunity to shape processes, enhance system performance, and contribute to the strategic growth of our business.
Your Impact as Area Manager
As an Area Manager, you will be the backbone of administrative excellence, ensuring seamless operations while fostering a culture of compliance and continuous improvement. Your responsibilities will span multiple critical areas:
- Administrative Leadership & Controls: Oversee administrative activities across all locations, enforcing company policies and standard operating procedures (SOPs) to maintain consistency and minimize discrepancies. Act as a trusted advisor to store management, providing training on operational systems and resolving till discrepancies with precision. Ensure accurate stock takes and inventory counts are conducted per SOPs, investigating any anomalies to uphold financial integrity.
- Policy Development & Compliance: Collaborate with regional teams and the Retail Compliance Manager to design and refine store procedures that align with both group-wide and local regulations. Review and update SOPs based on business needs and audit findings, while training new territories on compliance best practices. Support store managers in implementing corrective actions following internal audits to maintain high standards.
- System Optimization & IT Collaboration: Drive innovation in store operating systems, working closely with the Retail IT Manager to enhance efficiency and meet evolving customer expectations. Leverage SAP ECC.6 to its full potential, ensuring smooth system operations and serving as the primary point of contact for technical issues. Continuously seek opportunities to streamline processes and reduce operational friction.
- Business Development & Training: Assist in new store openings by coordinating IT requirements and ensuring administrative readiness. Play a key role in onboarding and training new employees, as well as upskilling existing staff, to ensure operational performance aligns with company standards. Act as a bridge between leadership and frontline teams to foster a culture of learning and growth.
- Process Excellence & Risk Mitigation: Monitor local consumables to align store budgets with financial goals, while ensuring efficient archiving practices to comply with Group Internal Audit standards. Champion Health, Safety, and Security protocols to minimize operational risks. Collaborate on ARIBA purchasing initiatives to drive cost savings and improve supply chain communication.
This role is ideal for a strategic thinker who thrives in a fast-paced environment, where administrative precision meets business acumen. If you are passionate about operational excellence and eager to contribute to a legacy of innovation, we invite you to be part of our journey.
Why Your Skills Matter
To excel in this role, you will bring a blend of administrative expertise, analytical rigor, and leadership. While a degree is advantageous, your 5-8 years of experience in finance or administrative roles—preferably in a store-based environment—is essential. Proficiency in SAP and related systems is non-negotiable, as is your ability to:
- Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Train and mentor employees to ensure adherence to SOPs.
- Optimize processes to enhance operational efficiency and reduce waste.
- Analyze data to identify trends and drive informed decision-making.
- Influence and negotiate with partners to achieve strategic objectives.
At Al-Futtaim Group, we believe in the power of collaboration and continuous growth. If you are ready to take on a challenge that combines administrative mastery with business impact, we encourage you to apply and be part of a team that shapes the future of retail excellence.
