As an **Information Security Specialist**, you will be at the forefront of our security operations, responsible for maintaining the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of our systems. This role demands a proactive mindset, deep technical proficiency, and the ability to collaborate across teams to mitigate risks and enhance security resilience.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead Security Operations: Operate and optimize our **Security Operations Center (SOC)** and IT security processes, ensuring 24/7 monitoring and rapid incident response to maintain 99.9% service availability.
• Enterprise Security Management: Manage, configure, troubleshoot, and implement cutting-edge security solutions, including Check Point, Palo Alto, FortiGate firewalls, proxy servers, VPNs, F5 Load Balancers, IPS/IDS, SIEM, AV, EDR, NDR, and XDR platforms to defend against sophisticated cyber threats.
• Threat Detection & Mitigation: Identify, investigate, and resolve security vulnerabilities, misconfigurations, and potential breaches with precision, ensuring proactive threat mitigation.
• Incident & Compliance Support: Assist in security infrastructure upgrades, technology rollouts, and transformation projects while adhering to industry best practices and compliance standards.
• Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate network/infrastructure diagrams, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), maintenance plans, health reports, and status updates to ensure transparency and operational excellence.
• Backup & Disaster Recovery: Support critical backup and recovery activities to safeguard against data loss and ensure business continuity.
• Hardware & Infrastructure Support: Perform **data center device checks, hardware diagnostics, cabling, mounting, and replacements** as needed to maintain a robust security infrastructure.
• Cross-Team Collaboration: Collaborate closely with **infrastructure, networking, and security teams** to align security strategies, resolve issues, and enhance overall operational reliability.

Technical Proficiencies

• Firewall & Network Security: Hands-on experience with **Palo Alto, FortiGate, and Check Point firewalls**, including advanced policy management and threat prevention.
• Endpoint & Network Protection: Expertise in **Antivirus (AV), EDR, NDR, and XDR solutions** to detect and neutralize advanced persistent threats.
• Security Monitoring & Analytics: Proficiency in **SIEM platforms and security event log management** to correlate and analyze threat data effectively.
• Proxy & Authentication Solutions: Configuration and troubleshooting of **proxy servers, RADIUS, and TACACS+** for secure access control.
• VPN & Encryption Technologies: Implementation and management of **Site-to-Site and Remote Access VPNs**, along with **TLS 1.2/1.3** for secure communications.
• Intrusion Prevention & Load Balancing: Experience with **IPS/IDS systems and F5 Load Balancers (LTM & GTM)** to optimize traffic flow and enhance security posture.
• Network Fundamentals: Deep understanding of **TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and NetFlow** for efficient network monitoring and troubleshooting.
• DDoS Mitigation: Knowledge of **Distributed Denial-of-Service (DDoS) protection mechanisms** to safeguard against large-scale attacks.

Qualifications & Experience

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in **Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related technical field** (or equivalent experience).
• Experience: Minimum **3 years** in **IT Security, Information Security, or Security Operations**, with a strong focus on **enterprise firewall management and security solutions**.
• Core Competencies: Proven ability to troubleshoot complex security issues, analyze logs, and implement best practices in **network security, threat detection, and incident response**.
• Operational Excellence: Ability to thrive in **SOC environments**, balancing rapid incident response with long-term security strategy execution.
• Analytical & Communication Skills: Strong **problem-solving, documentation, and collaboration skills** to bridge technical gaps and drive cross-functional alignment.

Preferred Certifications

• **CCNA or CCNP Security** – Validates expertise in networking and security fundamentals.
• **Palo Alto Certified Network Security Engineer (PAN-SE)** – Demonstrates proficiency in Palo Alto firewalls.
• **CompTIA Security+** – Recognizes foundational knowledge in cybersecurity concepts.
