Key Responsibilities

As the Engineering Manager, your responsibilities will include:

• Strategic Leadership: Define and execute technical roadmaps for complex engineering projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives and client needs. Drive innovation by exploring novel approaches to solve unique or controversial challenges in infrastructure, transportation, and systems engineering.
• Team Empowerment: Lead and mentor a high-performing team of engineers and technicians, fostering a collaborative environment that balances technical rigor with creative problem-solving. Provide guidance and support to ensure the team delivers high-quality, sustainable solutions.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Act as a bridge between technical teams, internal stakeholders, and external partners—including clients, regulators, and industry experts—to ensure seamless project execution and stakeholder satisfaction.
• Independent Decision-Making: Exercise autonomy in technical decision-making, leveraging extensive experience to navigate challenges and drive project success with minimal supervision. Work within broad objectives while maintaining accountability for outcomes.
• Project Delivery: Oversee end-to-end project delivery for major infrastructure initiatives, including rail, metro, transportation, and engineering projects. Ensure adherence to timelines, budgets, and technical standards while mitigating risks and optimizing performance.
• Knowledge Leadership: Stay at the forefront of industry trends and emerging technologies, applying best practices in systems engineering, requirements management, and project delivery to elevate AECOM’s technical capabilities.

Qualifications and Experience

To excel in this role, you will bring a blend of technical expertise, leadership acumen, and a passion for driving meaningful change. We are seeking candidates with:

• Advanced Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Engineering, Project Management, Computer Science, or a related discipline. A Master’s degree in a relevant field is highly preferred.
• Certifications: Professional certifications are a significant advantage, including:
• INCOSE Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP)
• Requirements Engineering certifications (e.g., IREB or equivalent)
• Project Management Professional (PMP)
• Extensive Experience: At least 12 years of progressive experience in requirements management, systems engineering, or project delivery, with several years in a leadership capacity. Proven success in managing large-scale infrastructure, rail, metro, or transportation projects is essential.
• Technical Depth: Deep technical knowledge across multiple engineering disciplines, with the ability to translate complex requirements into actionable solutions. Experience in defining project scope, selecting key areas of focus, and developing innovative approaches to technical challenges.
• Leadership Mindset: A track record of mentoring teams, fostering innovation, and driving results in fast-paced, global environments. Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders at all levels.
