Roads Engineer – Lead the Way in Saudi Arabia’s Infrastructure Growth

ARX is seeking a highly skilled Roads Engineer to join our Riyadh office, where you will play a critical role in designing and delivering world-class road and highway infrastructure. As a Roads Engineer at ARX, you will be responsible for leading the design, planning, and execution of complex road and highway systems, ensuring they meet the highest standards of safety, efficiency, and sustainability. Your expertise will be instrumental in shaping the future of Saudi Arabia’s transportation networks, aligning with both local regulatory requirements and global best practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead Design and Planning: Develop and oversee the design of roads and highways, including geometric layouts, horizontal and vertical alignments, grading, pavement design, intersections, junctions, and traffic systems to ensure seamless integration into broader infrastructure projects.
• Technical Excellence and Compliance: Perform detailed engineering analyses and ensure all designs adhere to Saudi Arabian codes, standards, and regulatory requirements, including those set by the Ministry of Transport and relevant authorities.
• Collaborative Project Integration: Work closely with project managers, cross-functional engineering teams, and other disciplines to align road systems with overall project objectives, optimizing performance and feasibility.
• Technical Leadership and Mentorship: Provide expert guidance to junior engineers and team members, reviewing technical deliverables, designs, and documentation to maintain the highest standards of quality and innovation.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Act as a key liaison between ARX, government authorities, clients, and other stakeholders to ensure project requirements are met and expectations are exceeded.
• Documentation and Reporting: Prepare comprehensive engineering reports, plans, and technical documentation that support project execution and compliance.

What We Look For

• Qualifications: A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field is required. Advanced degrees are a plus.
• Experience: A minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience in infrastructure projects, with a specific focus on roads and highways. At least 1 year of relevant experience within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is mandatory, demonstrating your ability to navigate local regulatory and operational environments.
• Technical Proficiency: In-depth knowledge of road and highway design principles, construction practices, and Saudi Arabian standards, including those related to geometric design, traffic engineering, pavement design, and intersections.
• Software Skills: Proficiency in industry-leading engineering design tools such as Civil 3D and Autodesk Vehicle Tracking, with the ability to leverage technology to enhance design efficiency and accuracy.
• Language Skills: Fluency in English is essential for effective communication across diverse teams and stakeholders. Proficiency in Arabic is highly advantageous and will be valued in this regional role.
