Key Responsibilities

As the IT Specialist, your responsibilities will span a broad spectrum of technical and operational duties, ensuring that our hotel’s systems run flawlessly while aligning with industry-leading best practices:

• Deliver Proactive Technical Support: Provide first-line technical assistance for hardware, software, network, and system-related issues across all hotel departments, ensuring minimal disruption to daily operations and maintaining high service standards.
• Maintain and Optimize Critical Systems: Oversee and monitor core hotel systems, including Property Management Systems (PMS), Point-of-Sale (POS) solutions, email and communication platforms, internet connectivity, telephony, and other business applications. Ensure these systems operate at peak performance to support smooth guest and staff interactions.
• Troubleshoot and Deploy IT Solutions: Install, configure, and troubleshoot a wide range of IT equipment, including computers, printers, network devices, and peripherals. Diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently to restore functionality and prevent downtime.
• Ensure Network Reliability: Monitor network performance, Wi-Fi connectivity, and system availability to guarantee seamless connectivity for guests and employees. Implement measures to minimize downtime and enhance overall network resilience.
• Perform Routine Maintenance and Security: Conduct regular system maintenance, software updates, backups, and antivirus management to safeguard our digital assets and maintain compliance with cybersecurity protocols. Protect sensitive data and ensure the integrity of our IT infrastructure.
• Manage User Access and Compliance: Create, manage, and enforce user accounts, passwords, and system access in strict adherence to hotel security policies and IHG’s cybersecurity standards. Maintain meticulous records of IT assets, software licenses, maintenance logs, and support requests to ensure transparency and accountability.
• Collaborate with External Partners: Coordinate with external vendors and service providers to facilitate equipment repairs, system maintenance, and upgrades. Act as a liaison between internal teams and external IT resources to ensure timely and effective resolutions.
• Support Strategic IT Initiatives: Assist in IT projects, system upgrades, and technology implementations across the hotel. Contribute to the evolution of our digital infrastructure, aligning technological advancements with the evolving needs of our business.
• Ensure Regulatory Compliance: Uphold compliance with IHG’s IT policies, cybersecurity standards, and data protection requirements. Stay abreast of industry regulations and internal guidelines to mitigate risks and ensure operational integrity.
• Empower Staff Through Training: Provide basic user training and guidance on hotel systems, IT best practices, and digital tools. Foster a culture of tech literacy among staff members to enhance productivity and reduce reliance on technical support.
• Adapt and Innovate: Perform additional IT-related duties as assigned by the IT Manager, demonstrating flexibility and a proactive approach to emerging technological challenges and opportunities.
