MEP Director – Luxury Hospitality: Leading Technical Excellence in Saudi Arabia’s Premier Projects

We are seeking a visionary MEP Director to spearhead the end-to-end delivery of cutting-edge mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems for world-class hospitality projects in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This pivotal role demands a strategic leader with a proven track record in orchestrating high-performance MEP solutions that elevate guest experiences, operational efficiency, and sustainability standards across luxury hotels, resorts, and premium hospitality environments.

As the architect of technical excellence, the MEP Director will oversee every phase of MEP delivery—from design innovation and procurement to construction, commissioning, and seamless handover—ensuring alignment with the highest benchmarks in luxury, reliability, and operational performance. This position requires executive-level leadership to manage multidisciplinary teams, coordinate with global stakeholders, and drive integrated solutions that harmonize with architectural brilliance, interior design, and specialized hospitality systems.

Key Responsibilities

At the heart of this role is the responsibility to:

• Define and execute a robust MEP delivery strategy, spanning design development, procurement, construction, and commissioning, while safeguarding critical milestones such as mock-ups, room readiness, and hotel openings.
• Provide executive oversight across all MEP disciplines—including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, building management systems (BMS), ICT, and specialized hospitality technologies—to ensure seamless integration and flawless performance in high-end environments.
• Collaborate closely with Hotel Operators, Interior Designers, Architects, and AV/IT specialists to align MEP systems with the project’s vision, ensuring thermal comfort, indoor air quality, acoustics, and lighting integration meet the most discerning standards.
• Lead strategic procurement of long-lead and high-value MEP equipment, such as chillers, air handling units (AHUs), generators, and smart controls, while managing relationships with Tier-1 subcontractors and vendors to optimize technical and commercial performance.
• Champion energy efficiency, sustainability, and smart-building technologies, delivering value-engineered solutions that enhance lifecycle performance without compromising luxury or guest experience.
• Ensure compliance with Saudi Building Code, Civil Defense regulations, and international hospitality standards, while driving authority approvals and mitigating technical, programmatic, and commercial risks.
• Establish and monitor KPIs for cost, quality, productivity, and operational readiness, fostering a culture of excellence within the MEP organization.
• Build and mentor a high-performing MEP team capable of delivering complex hospitality projects to international standards, ensuring every system is tested, balanced, and handed over with precision.

The ideal candidate will bring 20+ years of senior MEP leadership experience, with a proven history in directing large-scale projects for Tier-1 contractors. A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (with a Master’s or professional certification being advantageous) is required, along with a deep understanding of luxury hospitality requirements and the ability to navigate the intricacies of high-end project delivery in a dynamic market.
