Key Responsibilities

In this dynamic role, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Remote Hands & Smart Hands Support: Execute critical tasks such as cabling management, power cycling, and hardware swaps with precision and efficiency to minimize downtime.
• Server Rack Management: Install, configure, and decommission server racks while adhering to industry best practices and safety protocols.
• Networking and Cabling: Manage cross-connects and patch panels, ensuring optimal connectivity and troubleshooting any issues that arise.
• Hardware Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve hardware-related problems, leveraging your technical expertise to maintain operational integrity.
• Visual Inspections and Audits: Conduct thorough inspections and inventory audits to ensure all equipment is accounted for, functional, and compliant with data center standards.
• Client Support Coordination: Escort and facilitate access for client visits, ensuring a seamless experience while maintaining data center security and confidentiality.
• Emergency Response: Provide on-call support with flexible availability, including weekends and holidays, to address urgent requests and ensure continuous data center uptime.

Requirements

To excel in this role, you must possess the following qualifications and skills:

• Hands-On Technical Expertise: Proven experience working with data center infrastructure, including server hardware, networking, and cabling standards.
• Technical Proficiency: In-depth knowledge of server hardware, networking principles, and data center operations to troubleshoot and resolve technical challenges effectively.
• Physical Capability: Ability to lift and maneuver equipment weighing up to 25kg or more, demonstrating physical stamina and strength.
• Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills in English to collaborate with cross-functional teams and clients.
• Reliability and Availability: Reliable transportation and proximity to local data center facilities, along with flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and during emergency situations.

Nice to Have

While not mandatory, the following qualifications will further enhance your candidacy:

• Certifications: Industry-recognized certifications such as CompTIA Server+, Network+, CDCP, or CCNA.
• Experience with Major Providers: Prior experience working with leading data center providers like Equinix, Digital Realty, NTT, or CyrusOne.
• Structured Cabling Expertise: Specialized knowledge in fiber optics, Cat6 cabling, and Direct Attached Copper (DAC) solutions.
• Data Center or IT Infrastructure Experience: Extensive background in data center environments or IT infrastructure management.
• Professionalism and Adaptability: A track record of reliability, professionalism, and adaptability to meet the demands of on-call and emergency scenarios.
