IT Assets Manager – Device42 Administration & Strategic IT Governance

As an IT Assets Manager, you will play a pivotal role in optimizing IT infrastructure governance, asset lifecycle management, and service dependency mapping across on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments. This position demands a strategic leader with deep technical expertise in Device42 administration, configuration management, and IT asset discovery to ensure data accuracy, operational efficiency, and compliance-driven decision-making.

In this dynamic role, you will spearhead the organization’s IT Asset Management (ITAM) strategy, aligning it with global ITIL best practices and enterprise governance frameworks. Your responsibilities will span the entire asset lifecycle—from procurement and deployment to retirement—while ensuring seamless integration with financial, procurement, cybersecurity, and service delivery teams. You will lead a high-performing team, establish robust data governance policies, and drive continuous improvement in asset tracking, dependency mapping, and infrastructure insights.

Key Responsibilities

Your impact will be transformative across multiple dimensions:

• Strategic ITAM Leadership: Define and enforce enterprise-wide ITAM policies, standards, and control frameworks that align with ITIL and organizational governance, ensuring end-to-end accountability for hardware, virtual, cloud, network, and software assets.
• Lifecycle Management: Oversee the complete asset lifecycle—from acquisition and deployment to secure disposal—while maintaining critical data such as ownership, custodianship, warranty, contracts, and financial tracking.
• Device42 Administration: Serve as the technical authority for Device42, managing discovery processes, Remote Collectors, business applications, dependency mapping, and integrations to ensure real-time, accurate infrastructure insights.
• CMDB & Dependency Mapping: Lead the maintenance of a high-quality Configuration Management Database (CMDB) and service dependency maps, integrating with platforms like ServiceNow, BMC Remedy, or cloud monitoring tools to enhance operational visibility.
• Team & Process Leadership: Mentor and develop a skilled ITAM team, allocate responsibilities, and drive performance through objective-setting, skill development, and succession planning to ensure operational excellence.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with infrastructure, cybersecurity, finance, and procurement teams to conduct data-quality reviews, implement corrective actions, and ensure audit readiness for regulated environments.
• Technical Excellence: Leverage advanced Device42 administration skills—including appliance management, discovery customization, API integrations, and troubleshooting—to support large-scale, complex enterprise environments.

Qualifications & Experience

Candidates must demonstrate a robust blend of technical expertise and leadership experience:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. A postgraduate qualification is highly advantageous.
• Experience: 8–12 years of hands-on experience in IT infrastructure, ITAM, configuration management, or IT service management, with at least 3 years in a managerial or supervisory role. Preferred experience in regulated industries such as government, financial services, or insurance.
• Device42 Proficiency: Deep expertise in administering Device42, including discovery methods, Remote Collectors, business applications, dependency mapping, reporting, and integrations with ServiceNow, BMC Remedy, or cloud platforms.
• CMDB & Asset Governance: Proven track record in managing enterprise CMDB quality, asset lifecycle controls, and cross-functional remediation programs to ensure data integrity and operational resilience.
• Technical Competencies: Proficiency in VMware, Windows/Linux environments, network/storage systems, databases, middleware, containers, and public/private cloud platforms. Familiarity with ITAM and ITIL practices, CI lifecycle management, and data modeling is essential.
