الوصف الوظيفي

Automation Engineer – Drive Innovation in Process Control Systems at GulfNet Solutions

Join GulfNet Solutions (GNS), a leading subsidiary of Ali Zaid Al Quraishi & Brothers (AZAQ), as an Automation Engineer and play a pivotal role in delivering cutting-edge solutions across the GCC’s most critical infrastructure projects. Founded in 1997, GNS specializes in information security, cloud computing, big data, and automation—where your expertise will shape the future of smart, efficient, and compliant industrial systems.

As an Automation Engineer at GNS, you will lead end-to-end automation projects, from conceptualization to final delivery, ensuring seamless integration of control systems, PLCs, and field instrumentation. Your work will directly impact operational efficiency, safety, and compliance in water, power, and industrial facilities across the region. This is an opportunity to combine technical leadership with strategic project management in a dynamic, mission-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

In this dynamic role, your responsibilities will include:

  • Project Leadership and Execution: Concurrently manage medium to high-complexity automation projects, overseeing site testing, commissioning, and operational readiness. Apply rigorous engineering standards and project management frameworks to ensure systematic, high-quality execution from inception to closure.
  • Technical Design and Documentation: Develop comprehensive engineering deliverables, including Instrumentation and Logic Diagrams (ILDs), P&IDs, PFDs, and Data Sheets. Create detailed IO lists, FAT (Factory Acceptance Testing) and SAT (Site Acceptance Testing) reports, and mapping/panel designs for PLCs, RTUs, and DCS systems. Align designs with international standards (ANSI, NEMA, UL, NEC) and industry best practices.
  • Field and System Integration: Lead installation, testing, and commissioning of wiring, cabling, and grounding systems, adhering to GNS and global standards. Assign and supervise technicians for field instrumentation integration, ensuring seamless hardware and software alignment.
  • Customer-Centric Delivery: Drive quality assurance by planning and monitoring contract deliveries, customer inspections, and project timelines. Ensure 100% customer satisfaction through meticulous follow-up and proactive issue resolution.
  • Technical Support and Innovation: Provide moderate to high-level technical assistance to operational teams, diagnosing control system issues and recommending corrective solutions. Collaborate with R&D teams to develop new tools, software, and automation solutions, documenting successes for future scalability.
  • PLC and HMI Programming: Program and configure PLCs, HMIs, RTUs, and DCS applications for automated process equipment using platforms like Rockwell Automation’s Studio 5000, FactoryTalk, and Siemens/Schneider’s S7/WinCC. Lead technical discussions with clients during FAT and IFAT phases to ensure flawless system validation.
  • Knowledge Transfer and Training: Support presales teams in pilot projects and deliver customer training sessions as part of project execution, reinforcing GNS’s commitment to client success and operational excellence.

This role demands a blend of technical proficiency, project management acumen, and a passion for innovation. If you thrive in a collaborative, high-impact environment and are eager to contribute to transformative projects in the GCC’s energy and infrastructure sectors, we invite you to be part of GNS’s legacy of excellence.

Qualifications and Experience

To excel in this position, you must meet the following criteria:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, or Instrumentation Engineering.
  • Experience: Minimum of 7 years in automation engineering, with a proven track record in water and power projects. Familiarity with NWC, SWCC, SIO, and RC systems is essential.
  • Technical Proficiency: Extensive experience with Rockwell Automation tools (Studio 5000, FactoryTalk, RSLogix, ControlLogix, CompactLogix) and Siemens/Schneider platforms (S7, WinCC, Unity Pro, Wonderware).
  • Standards Compliance: Deep knowledge of international standards (ANSI, NEMA, UL, NEC) and best practices in process control and instrumentation.
  • Soft Skills: Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams, clients, and stakeholders.

At GNS, your expertise will not only drive operational efficiency but also contribute to the advancement of smart infrastructure in the GCC. Join us and be a part of a legacy that blends innovation with integrity.
