Windows OS System Administrator – Lead Enterprise Server Operations

Join our dynamic team as a **Windows OS System Administrator**, where you will play a pivotal role in maintaining the seamless operation of our enterprise-grade Windows server infrastructure. This is a **24/7/365** position, ensuring round-the-clock reliability and performance for critical business systems, including SAP environments hosted on Windows. As a key member of our IT operations team, you will be responsible for the installation, configuration, optimization, and troubleshooting of Windows Server systems, clusters, and associated services, while upholding the highest standards of security, compliance, and operational excellence.

In this strategic role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver end-to-end support for our Windows-based infrastructure, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum efficiency. Your expertise will be instrumental in maintaining system stability, implementing best practices for patch management, and proactively monitoring performance to mitigate risks before they impact operations. Whether managing Windows Server environments, SAP applications, or Microsoft System Center solutions, your contributions will directly enhance the resilience and scalability of our IT ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will span strategic oversight, operational execution, and collaborative problem-solving, ensuring our Windows infrastructure remains robust, secure, and aligned with regulatory requirements. Key areas of focus include:

• Strategic Management & Compliance: Oversee the entire lifecycle of Windows Server systems and clusters, ensuring adherence to vendor guidelines, cybersecurity best practices, and regulatory frameworks such as NCA, NIC, and SEC standards. Implement and enforce security policies to safeguard sensitive data and maintain operational integrity.
• Enterprise Server Operations: Install, configure, and maintain Windows Server environments (including Server 2012, 2016, and later versions) and Windows Clusters. Provide end-to-end support for daily operations, including OS installation, monitoring, troubleshooting, antivirus management, and resource optimization. Manage Windows File Shares, clusters, and SAP environments, including SAP HANA and SAP S/4HANA, to ensure high availability and performance.
• Proactive Monitoring & Troubleshooting: Continuously review system logs, performance metrics, and OS behavior to identify and resolve issues before they escalate. Leverage advanced tools such as Microsoft System Center Operations Manager (SCOM) and System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) to automate monitoring, patch management, and remediation processes.
• Collaborative Support & Cross-Team Coordination: Work closely with ERP, application, database, and web hosting teams to address urgent support requests, resolve breakdowns, and coordinate scheduled maintenance activities. Foster strong relationships with stakeholders to ensure alignment between IT operations and business objectives.
• Process Improvement & Automation: Develop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including design specifications, operational procedures, and knowledge base articles. Implement automation workflows using Microsoft Orchestrator to streamline repetitive tasks and improve operational efficiency. Manage user and group accounts, enforce access policies, and ensure compliance with organizational security standards.
• Vendor Support & Incident Management: Act as the primary point of contact for vendor interactions with Microsoft, including escalation, log collection, and follow-up activities for support tickets. Ensure timely resolution of technical issues while maintaining clear communication with internal and external stakeholders.

Requirements

To excel in this role, you must possess a blend of technical expertise, operational discipline, and a commitment to continuous improvement. The ideal candidate will meet the following criteria:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Advanced certifications in Windows Server administration or SAP environments are a plus.
• Experience: 3 to 5+ years of hands-on experience in enterprise Windows Server administration, with a proven track record of managing complex server environments, clusters, and SAP applications on Windows platforms.
• Technical Proficiency: Deep expertise in Windows Server (2012, 2016, and later versions) and Windows Clustering. Extensive experience with Microsoft System Center (SCOM, SCCM) and Microsoft Orchestrator for automation. Familiarity with SAP, SAP HANA, and SAP S/4HANA environments on Windows. Strong skills in Active Directory management, user account configurations, group policies, and cybersecurity best practices.
• Operational Excellence: Ability to thrive in a **24/7/365** shift-based environment with minimal supervision. Exceptional documentation skills to create clear, actionable, and well-structured technical and operational documentation.
• Collaboration & Problem-Solving: Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including ERP, application, and database specialists. Proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues while maintaining a customer-centric mindset.
• Regulatory Awareness: Understanding of cybersecurity regulations (NCA, NIC) and a commitment to maintaining compliance in all IT operations.

Preferred Qualifications

While not mandatory, the following skills will be highly valued:

• Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware or Hyper-V.
• Familiarity with cloud integration and hybrid IT environments.
