• Strategic Leadership & ESG Integration: Collaborate with business divisions to develop and scale sustainable finance products, ensuring alignment with global ESG standards and regional best practices. Lead upskilling initiatives across all levels of the organization to foster a culture of sustainability.
• Policy & Governance: Implement and oversee departmental policies, processes, and procedures related to sustainability, ensuring compliance and operational excellence. Establish robust governance frameworks to support ESG initiatives and maintain a clear, structured workflow for tracking progress.
• Sustainable Finance Deal Execution: Work closely with deal teams to originate and execute sustainable finance transactions, including sustainability-linked and use-of-proceeds deals. Develop innovative product structures that address real-world challenges while identifying new growth opportunities in emerging markets.
• External Representation & Networking: Act as Riyad Bank’s ambassador in external ESG and sustainability networks, strengthening the bank’s reputation and fostering strategic partnerships. Translate external stakeholder expectations into actionable internal strategies.
• Operational Excellence & Continuous Improvement: Drive efficiency in sustainable finance processes by identifying cost-saving measures, productivity enhancements, and alignment with international best practices. Ensure timely and accurate reporting to meet regulatory and corporate standards.
• Risk & Compliance Alignment: Collaborate with the bank’s Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) department to assess climate risks and opportunities, ensuring sustainable finance initiatives are resilient and aligned with broader risk frameworks.

Qualifications & Experience

• Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Sustainability, Business Administration, Economics, Finance, or a related energy-focused field. Advanced degrees or certifications in sustainable finance, ESG, or climate finance are a significant advantage.
• Experience: 4–6 years of relevant experience in sustainable finance or investment, with a majority of your career spent in a banking or financial services environment. Proven expertise in structuring and executing sustainable finance deals, including sustainability-linked loans, green bonds, or use-of-proceeds financing.
• Language: Fluent or native-level proficiency in English, with strong written and verbal communication skills for both internal and external stakeholders.
