Your Opportunity: Drive Early-Stage Investment Growth in Saudi Arabia

We are seeking a dynamic, insightful, and proactive Investment Associate to join our Saudi team and expand BECO’s influence within the Kingdom’s thriving startup ecosystem. In this role, you will be at the forefront of deal origination, relationship-building, and investment analysis, ensuring BECO identifies and supports the most promising early-stage opportunities before they gain widespread attention.

As an integral part of our investment team, you will contribute to building conviction through rigorous due diligence, market research, and financial modeling. Your strategic acumen and deep understanding of the Saudi startup landscape will be instrumental in shaping BECO’s investment thesis and portfolio performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Strategic Origination: Act as a key driver in BECO’s early-stage sourcing engine, leveraging your network and analytical skills to identify and evaluate high-potential deals in Saudi Arabia. Your ability to think and act swiftly will ensure BECO secures exclusive access to the most compelling opportunities.
• Founder Relationships: Cultivate and nurture relationships with founders aligned with BECO’s values. Provide proactive value to entrepreneurs, even in non-investment contexts, fostering long-term trust and collaboration that will yield high-impact returns for both parties.
• Ecosystem Engagement: Represent BECO across a diverse range of platforms, including accelerators, angel syndicates, founder communities, university programs, and government-backed initiatives. Your presence will not only enhance BECO’s visibility but also generate valuable deal flow and market intelligence.
• Conviction Building: Collaborate closely with the investment team to conduct thorough due diligence on potential investments. Your responsibilities will include market sizing, valuation modeling, risk assessment, and scenario analysis to evaluate both multiple-on-invested-capital (MOIC) and internal rates of return (IRRs). Additionally, you will conduct cohort analysis, customer and channel reference checks, and product testing to refine BECO’s investment decisions.
• Investment Memos and Deal Primers: Draft high-quality investment memos and deal primers that are polished and ready for partner review. Your analyses should be grounded in first principles, offering clear, data-driven recommendations.
• Portfolio Support: Provide ongoing support to BECO’s portfolio companies in Saudi Arabia. Collect, validate, and analyze reporting data, proactively address challenges, and ensure that BECO delivers maximum return on investment through tailored guidance and resource allocation.
• Market Intelligence: Develop a distinctive perspective on emerging market trends and sector dynamics. Your insights will be critical in shaping BECO’s strategic direction and investment focus areas.

Who You Are

This role is designed for an individual who is deeply embedded within the Saudi startup ecosystem. Networking is not just a requirement—it is the foundation of your success. We are looking for a candidate with:

• 4 to 6 years of relevant experience: Your background should include at least two years within the Saudi startup ecosystem, whether through venture capital, angel investing, high-growth startups, or ecosystem-building initiatives.
• A robust, personal network: A live, active network of Saudi founders (primarily in Riyadh) and key ecosystem players. Your connections should be built on trust and mutual value exchange.
• A track record of relentless deal sourcing: Demonstrate a history of identifying early-stage companies, sourcing high-potential deals, and making valuable introductions that drive meaningful opportunities.
• Strong commercial judgment and analytical prowess: Your ability to build financial models from scratch, assess market dynamics, and evaluate risks with precision will be critical to your success.
• An aptitude for connecting the dots: You possess a keen instinct for identifying trends and distilling complex scenarios into actionable insights. Your ability to think independently and defend your perspectives, regardless of seniority, will drive impactful decision-making.
• Independent thinking and conviction: You form well-reasoned views and are unafraid to challenge conventional wisdom. Your ability to articulate and justify your positions will be invaluable in shaping BECO’s investment strategy.
