As a Senior Database Engineer, you will be responsible for architecting and maintaining complex database environments that support mission-critical applications. Your expertise will be instrumental in enhancing system reliability, performance, and security while ensuring compliance with industry best practices. Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and optimize scalable database solutions using leading-edge technologies such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, or NoSQL databases, ensuring high availability, fault tolerance, and performance.
• Lead the migration, integration, and administration of database systems, including planning and executing upgrades, patches, and migrations with minimal downtime.
• Collaborate with software engineers and product teams to define database schemas, optimize queries, and implement efficient data models that support application scalability and performance.
• Develop and enforce database security policies, access controls, and compliance measures to protect sensitive data and ensure regulatory adherence.
• Monitor database performance, diagnose bottlenecks, and implement solutions to enhance system efficiency and reliability.
• Mentor junior engineers, share expertise, and contribute to a collaborative environment that promotes innovation and technical excellence.
• Stay abreast of emerging database technologies and industry trends, recommending and implementing advancements that align with business objectives.
• Work closely with DevOps teams to automate database deployment, backup, and recovery processes, ensuring operational efficiency and resilience.

Qualifications and Skills:

• A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; a master’s degree is a plus.
• Proven experience (8+ years) as a Database Engineer or similar role, with a strong background in designing and managing enterprise-grade database systems.
• Expertise in relational and NoSQL databases, including experience with PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, MongoDB, or similar technologies.
• Deep knowledge of SQL and NoSQL query optimization, indexing strategies, and database tuning techniques.
• Experience with cloud-based database services (AWS RDS, Azure SQL, Google Cloud SQL) and hybrid database architectures.
• Familiarity with data warehousing solutions, ETL processes, and big data technologies is a significant advantage.
• Strong proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or T-SQL for database automation and administration.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex database issues efficiently.
• Experience leading cross-functional projects and driving database initiatives from conception to execution.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Certifications in database technologies (e.g., Oracle Certified Professional, AWS Certified Database – Specialty) are highly desirable.
