Key Responsibilities

As the Chief Accountant, your responsibilities will span across multiple critical areas, ensuring the integrity and efficiency of our financial processes:

• Strategic Financial Leadership: Lead and oversee all accounting and financial operations within the KSA business, ensuring alignment with international accounting standards (IFRS) and Saudi regulatory requirements.
• Financial Operations Management: Manage the full accounting cycle, including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, fixed assets, accruals, provisions, and reconciliations to maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records.
• Financial Reporting and Analysis: Prepare and present monthly financial statements, management reports, and detailed account analyses to support informed decision-making. Provide comprehensive insights into financial performance, cost control, and project profitability.
• Project Financial Oversight: Lead project accounting functions, including job costing, budget monitoring, revenue recognition, and project profitability analysis. Ensure adherence to contractual obligations and project-specific financial controls.
• Compliance and Regulatory Adherence: Ensure strict compliance with Saudi VAT, withholding tax, Zakat, ZATCA, and e-invoicing requirements. Coordinate with regulatory bodies and internal teams to mitigate risks and maintain regulatory alignment.
• Financial Controls and Audits: Implement and maintain robust financial controls, ensuring all transactions are properly documented, approved, and recorded. Collaborate with internal and external auditors to facilitate timely and efficient audit processes.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Projects, Operations, Commercial, Procurement, HR, and other departments to align financial strategies with broader business objectives and operational needs.
• Team Development and Mentorship: Lead, mentor, and develop the local accounting team, fostering a skilled and motivated workforce capable of driving financial excellence.
• ERP and System Optimization: Leverage ERP systems to streamline financial processes and reporting. Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement innovative solutions to enhance operational efficiency.

Qualifications and Experience

The ideal candidate will possess a strong educational background, extensive industry experience, and a proven track record of leadership in accounting and finance. We seek:

• Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline is required.
• Experience: Minimum of 8 years of progressive accounting and finance experience, with a focus on senior or supervisory roles. Proven experience leading or supervising an accounting team or function is essential.
• Industry Expertise: Strong experience within project-based, contracting, construction, EPC, MEP, ICT infrastructure, telecommunications, systems integration, or a similar operational environment. Deep knowledge of project accounting, job costing, Work in Progress (WIP), revenue recognition, project billing, retentions, and project profitability is critical.
• Technical Proficiency: Advanced knowledge of IFRS and Saudi financial regulations, including VAT, withholding tax, Zakat, ZATCA, and e-invoicing requirements. Hands-on experience with ERP systems, with a preference for Microsoft Dynamics 365 or similar platforms. Proficiency in advanced Microsoft Excel is a must.
• Certifications: Professional certifications such as CMA, CPA, ACCA, SOCPA, or equivalent are highly preferred.
• Soft Skills: Exceptional analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management capabilities are essential to collaborate effectively across departments.
• Language Proficiency: Professional proficiency in both English and Arabic is required to facilitate seamless communication within the KSA operation.
