الوصف الوظيفي
Chief Accountant – Drive Financial Excellence in Saudi Arabia’s Dynamic Healthcare Distribution Sector
Join a forward-thinking healthcare distribution leader in Saudi Arabia as our Chief Accountant, playing a pivotal role in ensuring financial integrity, operational efficiency, and regulatory compliance across our operations in Khobar and Jeddah. This strategic position demands a seasoned finance professional with a keen eye for detail, a passion for process optimization, and the ability to lead a high-performing accounting team. If you thrive in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment and seek to make a lasting impact on financial governance, we invite you to explore this opportunity.
As the Chief Accountant, you will be the architect of our financial close processes, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and adherence to international financial reporting standards (IFRS) while aligning accounting practices with the company’s broader strategic objectives. This role is not just about numbers—it’s about building trust, fostering transparency, and enabling data-driven decision-making that propels our organization forward.
Key Responsibilities
Your leadership will be instrumental in steering our financial operations with precision and foresight. Core responsibilities include:
- Financial Close Leadership: Oversee the end-to-end monthly, quarterly, and year-end close cycles, guaranteeing the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of financial statements, including Trial Balance preparation and supporting schedules. Ensure all reconciliations are resolved, and financial controls are robust to support audit readiness.
- General Ledger and Transactional Integrity: Scrutinize General Ledger postings, accruals, provisions, revenue recognition, cost of goods sold (COGS), inventory accounting, and critical balance-sheet reconciliations. Verify that transactions are accurately recorded in SAP/ERP across the correct entities, accounts, cost/profit centers, and reporting dimensions.
- Accounts Payable/Receivable (AP/AR) Oversight: Maintain stringent control over AP/AR interfaces, clearing accounts, suspense items, and aged reconciliations to minimize discrepancies and ensure liquidity management.
- Financial Reporting and Variance Analysis: Collaborate on the preparation of Profit & Loss (P&L) statements, Balance Sheets, and management reports. Provide clear, actionable insights into material accounting variances and their implications for business performance.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Credit, Procurement, Supply Chain, and other finance teams to resolve complex accounting and reconciliation issues, fostering alignment across departments.
- Audit and Compliance: Ensure all financial documentation is audit-ready and aligns with company policies, IFRS standards, and Saudi Arabian regulatory requirements. Act as a key liaison during internal and external audits.
- Team Development and Process Improvement: Mentor and develop assigned accounting staff, delegate close responsibilities, and champion continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial processes.
Why This Role Matters
In this dynamic sector, your expertise will not only strengthen our financial controls but also support our growth initiatives in the healthcare distribution space. You’ll play a critical role in ensuring our financial systems reflect the true health of the business, enabling stakeholders to make informed, strategic decisions with confidence.
What We’re Looking For
We are seeking a highly qualified Chief Accountant with a proven track record in financial leadership and operational excellence. Ideal candidates will possess:
- Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, complemented by a professional qualification such as SOCPA, CPA, ACCA, or CMA (or equivalent).
- Experience: 7–10 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a senior or supervisory role. Prior experience in month-end closing, Trial Balance management, reconciliations, inventory accounting, and audit support is essential.
- Technical Proficiency: Hands-on experience with SAP/ERP systems and advanced proficiency in Excel for financial modeling and analysis.
- Language Skills: Fluency in both Arabic and English, with the flexibility to relocate to or work from Khobar or Jeddah.
- Nice to Have: Experience in distribution, healthcare, pharmaceutical, or high-volume B2B environments is a significant advantage. Additional value will be placed on candidates with exposure to finance transformation projects, including opening balances, system configuration, and reporting readiness for business separations.
If you are a detail-oriented finance leader with a passion for driving operational excellence and a commitment to fostering a culture of accountability, we’d love to hear from you. Join us in shaping the future of healthcare distribution in Saudi Arabia—where precision meets purpose.
