In this strategic role, you will lead the technical direction for Elasticsearch clusters, driving scalability, reliability, and integration with enterprise-grade solutions. Your responsibilities will span cluster administration, security hardening, observability implementation, and the deployment of advanced Elastic ML capabilities—all while fostering a culture of automation and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

You will be responsible for designing, deploying, and managing Elasticsearch clusters with a focus on performance, security, and scalability. Your work will ensure seamless operations across environments while minimizing downtime and optimizing resource utilization. Key tasks include:

• Elasticsearch Administration: Lead the design, deployment, and ongoing management of Elasticsearch clusters in multi-environment setups, ensuring high availability, fault tolerance, and performance optimization. Develop and execute cluster scaling strategies, including shard allocation, node sizing, and Index Lifecycle Management (ILM) to accommodate growing data volumes and user demands.
• Technical Escalation & Support: Serve as the primary technical escalation point for Elasticsearch-related issues, collaborating cross-functionally to resolve complex problems and implement long-term solutions. Act as a subject matter expert to guide teams on best practices and operational workflows.
• Security Hardening: Implement robust security measures, including Role-Based Access Control (RBAC), TLS certificate management, and other security configurations, to safeguard Elasticsearch environments against vulnerabilities and unauthorized access.
• Observability & Monitoring: Establish and maintain Service Level Objective (SLO) monitors in Kibana Observability, ensuring alignment with business and operational goals. Integrate observability environments with existing company solutions to provide real-time insights and proactive issue detection. Document and refine alerting runbooks to ensure consistent, repeatable responses to critical incidents.
• Elastic ML & Advanced Analytics: Develop and maintain Elastic ML-powered features, such as outlier detection, regression analysis, and classification models, leveraging the Data Frame Analytics API to derive actionable insights from large datasets.
• Infrastructure & Automation: Collaborate with container orchestration platforms like Kubernetes to deploy and manage Elasticsearch clusters efficiently. Perform Linux/Unix system administration tasks, including networking configuration, storage optimization, and performance tuning. Develop automation scripts in Python, Bash, or similar languages to streamline operational workflows and reduce manual intervention.
