Key Responsibilities

Your role will encompass a broad spectrum of technical and collaborative responsibilities, including:

• Advanced Troubleshooting and Support: Perform in-depth, end-to-end second-line troubleshooting across IP and transmission networks, encompassing routers, switches, MPLS environments, and transmission nodes to ensure optimal performance and rapid incident resolution.
• Incident and Configuration Management: Oversee incident, problem, and configuration activities to maintain network performance, stability, and alignment with operational best practices. Investigate service degradations and outages to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
• Technical Configuration and Maintenance: Configure, install, maintain, and upgrade network devices and services, ensuring adherence to industry standards and Ericsson’s technical guidelines. Conduct node acceptance, audits, and network health assessments to validate system integrity.
• Collaborative Problem-Solving: Work closely with field teams, access operations, and third-party vendors to resolve complex technical challenges. Collaborate with design teams to follow up on transmission-related matters and support implementation activities.
• Escalation and Stakeholder Coordination: Manage escalations with third-line support when necessary, ensuring seamless handoffs and resolution of critical issues. Review and verify transmission-related network changes to minimize risks and disruptions.
• Continuous Improvement and Innovation: Participate in technical investigations, analysis sessions, and continuous improvement initiatives to refine processes, enhance network reliability, and drive operational excellence.
• On-Call and Shift Support: Provide dedicated on-call support in a 24/5 shift environment, including weekend coverage, to ensure round-the-clock network availability and responsiveness.

What You’ll Bring to the Table

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive transmission engineer with a proven track record in network operations and troubleshooting. Ideal candidates will possess:

• 1 to 4 Years of Relevant Experience: Hands-on experience in transmission network operations, support, or troubleshooting, with a focus on IP networking concepts and protocols.
• Technical Expertise: Proficiency in Cisco routers and switches, along with experience troubleshooting transmission technologies and network nodes. Familiarity with Ericsson transmission solutions—such as Mini-Link TN, Mini-Link 6600, Mini-Link 6352, R6000, and SIU/TCU—is highly advantageous.
• Process and Tool Knowledge: Understanding of configuration, incident, problem, and change management processes, along with experience using network management and monitoring tools.
• Certifications and Skills: Cisco and/or Ericsson networking certifications are preferred. Basic scripting knowledge or automation experience is a plus, reflecting your ability to streamline processes and enhance efficiency.
• Analytical and Communication Skills: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, coupled with excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities. You must thrive in fast-paced environments, manage multiple priorities, and deliver results under pressure.
