Senior Accountant – Full-Time Opportunity in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia

As our Senior Accountant, you will take full ownership of the company’s accounting functions, ensuring seamless financial operations, regulatory compliance, and strategic reporting—all while supporting the broader group’s financial needs. In this pivotal position, you will serve as the sole accounting authority, overseeing every aspect of the financial cycle—from invoicing and collections to payroll, statutory filings, and month-end closures. Your role extends beyond domestic operations, as you will also provide critical accounting support to the group’s smaller entities, ensuring consistency and accuracy across all financial processes.

Key Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will span core accounting functions, compliance, and strategic reporting, requiring meticulous attention to detail and proactive financial stewardship:

• Revenue and Receivables Management: Issue tax-compliant invoices in Odoo against purchase orders and sale agreements, adhering to contract-specific billing terms (advance payments, milestones, monthly, or per-visit). Maintain an up-to-date receivables ledger, generate client statements, and diligently follow up on overdue invoices with project managers and stakeholders. Ensure timely billing for completed work while tracking unbilled deliverables against contractual obligations.
• Payables and Treasury Operations: Process supplier invoices, employee expense claims, and salary advances with rigorous documentation and approval workflows. Initiate payments and transfers via the bank platform, manage petty cash and company cards, and perform monthly bank reconciliations to maintain liquidity and accuracy.
• Payroll and Employee Compliance: Prepare and approve monthly payroll sheets, process salary transfers through the Wage Protection System (WPS), and coordinate with HR on onboarding, offboarding, and employment changes. Calculate leave settlements and end-of-service benefits in full compliance with Saudi Labour Law. Prepare and reconcile GOSI contributions to ensure seamless statutory adherence.
• Statutory and Regulatory Compliance: Lead quarterly VAT filings with ZATCA, ensuring full compliance with e-invoicing requirements. Calculate, file, and remit withholding taxes on payments to non-resident suppliers. Support annual Zakat filings and other ZATCA obligations, mitigating regulatory risks while optimizing tax efficiency.
• Financial Close and Reporting: Own the month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, accruals, depreciation calculations, and intercompany reconciliations. Generate comprehensive management reports, including receivables ageing, cash flow projections, revenue by project, and unbilled work tracking. Collaborate with external auditors to prepare year-end financial statements for approval.
• Group Accounting and Systems Support: Extend your expertise to support the accounting of the group’s smaller entities, ensuring alignment with corporate policies and intercompany reconciliations. Serve as the primary user of Odoo Accounting, maintaining master data integrity and collaborating with the Odoo administrator on system configurations. Transition records from Zoho to Odoo post-2025, ensuring continuity and accuracy.

Requirements

We are seeking a highly qualified Senior Accountant with a proven track record in financial leadership, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency. Your profile should include:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, complemented by six or more years of accounting experience, with at least three years in Saudi Arabia and two years of end-to-end financial management as the sole or senior accountant.
• In-depth, hands-on experience with Saudi VAT, ZATCA e-invoicing, withholding tax, Zakat, GOSI, WPS, and Saudi Labour Law, ensuring seamless compliance with local regulations.
• Proficient proficiency in Odoo Accounting (minimum two years of experience) and advanced Excel skills to analyze financial data and generate actionable insights.
• Fluency in both Arabic and English, with the ability to navigate government, banking, and internal communications in Arabic while managing client correspondence in English.
• A reputation for accuracy, organization, and self-directed workflow management, capable of maintaining a structured monthly calendar without supervision.

Preferred Qualifications

While not mandatory, the following qualifications will further strengthen your candidacy:

• Experience in a project-based or professional services environment, with expertise in milestone-based and purchase-order invoicing.
• A professional certification such as SOCPA, CPA, ACCA, or CMA, demonstrating advanced financial acumen.
• An active transferable iqama (for candidates already in the Kingdom) and the ability to commence duties within 30 days of offer acceptance.
