Key Responsibilities

As the Director of Power & Utilities, your leadership will be instrumental in ensuring the seamless operation and continuous evolution of the city’s electrical infrastructure. Your responsibilities will include:

• Strategic Oversight of Power Distribution: Direct the comprehensive operation, maintenance, and asset integrity of all high-voltage and medium-voltage sub-stations, transmission lines, and distribution networks across the entire city footprint. Implement proactive maintenance strategies and advanced grid management protocols to guarantee uninterrupted power supply to critical sectors, including entertainment, industrial, and residential zones.
• Stakeholder & Regulatory Leadership: Serve as the principal executive liaison with national electricity companies, water and power authorities, and ministry officials to negotiate bulk power purchase agreements, tariff structures, and long-term load allocations. Ensure alignment with national sustainability frameworks and regulatory requirements to safeguard multi-billion-dollar infrastructure investments.
• Grid Resilience & Disaster Recovery: Design and enforce world-class grid redundancy protocols, disaster recovery workflows, and backup generation strategies to mitigate risks and ensure zero-downtime power delivery. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop robust contingency plans that protect mission-critical operations during peak demand or unforeseen disruptions.
• Cost Optimization & Asset Lifecycle Management: Drive engineering strategies that optimize the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) across millions of utility asset nodes. Partner with the Asset Lifecycle Planning (LCP) division to create multi-decade Capital Asset Replacement Plans (CARP) for core infrastructure, including transformers, switchgears, and smart metering systems, ensuring long-term financial sustainability.
• Smart Grid & Technological Integration: Lead the deployment and governance of Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems, Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) sensors, and Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) to enable real-time smart grid monitoring and data-driven decision-making. Foster innovation in industrial automation to enhance operational efficiency and predictive maintenance capabilities.
• Financial & Operational Alignment: Oversee the integration of utility usage data with corporate finance systems to automate expense tracking and recovery processes. Provide audited energy-consumption models to the Service Charge Director, ensuring precise infrastructure cross-charging and utility billing frameworks for commercial operators, tenants, and sub-developments.
