Key Responsibilities

• Clinical Leadership and Patient Care: Deliver exceptional gastrointestinal care through evidence-based medicine, adhering to CBAHI/JCIA standards, hospital by-laws, and Saudi Ministry of Health regulations. Provide comprehensive inpatient and outpatient services, including diagnostic and therapeutic interventions, while maintaining meticulous documentation of patient records.
• Departmental Stewardship: Lead the gastroenterology department with a focus on measurable performance improvement, ensuring adherence to quality benchmarks and continuous enhancement of clinical processes. Supervise junior staff, fostering a culture of professional growth and accountability.
• Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Participate in regular ward rounds and multidisciplinary treatment planning to optimize patient outcomes. Actively engage in emergency response, offering specialized expertise and collaborating with colleagues across specialties.
• Quality and Safety Advocacy: Champion patient rights, including confidentiality, privacy, and informed consent. Actively contribute to Quality Improvement Committees and Infection Control initiatives to elevate hospital-wide standards.
• Medical Education and Research: Engage in Continued Medical Education (CME), including hospital-based activities (grand rounds, journal clubs, and conferences) and international forums. Drive research and clinical studies to advance gastroenterological knowledge, while mentoring junior physicians and nursing staff.
• Patient and Family Education: Educate patients and families on gastrointestinal health, treatment plans, and preventive measures, tailoring communication to individual needs and developmental levels. Collaborate with patients to align care plans with their goals and preferences.
• Regulatory Compliance: Uphold all departmental policies, hospital regulations, and legal requirements, ensuring seamless integration of clinical practice with administrative standards.
