Key Responsibilities

As the General Ledger Unit Manager, your responsibilities will include:

• Financial Governance and Accuracy: Oversee the maintenance of the general ledger, ensuring all financial transactions are recorded with absolute precision and integrity. Review journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and prepaid expenses to uphold accuracy and resolve discrepancies promptly.
• Strategic Financial Closings: Lead and coordinate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closings, aligning with strict deadlines and ensuring compliance with IFRS/GAAP standards. Review trial balances, variance analyses, and supporting schedules to deliver high-quality management reporting.
• Internal Controls and Compliance: Implement and maintain robust internal control systems, accounting policies, and governance frameworks. Ensure compliance with local regulations, company policies, and global financial standards while collaborating seamlessly with internal and external auditors.
• Process Optimization and Automation: Drive efficiency in general ledger operations and financial reporting by identifying opportunities for automation and process improvement. Work closely with IT and finance teams to enhance ERP systems, such as SAP, Oracle, or NetSuite, and improve data integration for streamlined workflows.
• Team Leadership and Development: Supervise and mentor a team of general ledger accountants, fostering a culture of accountability, professional growth, and collaboration. Assign tasks, track progress, and provide ongoing training to ensure high performance and skill development.

Qualifications and Experience

To excel in this position, you will bring:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, complemented by 7 to 10 years of hands-on experience in accounting, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or managerial general ledger role.
• In-depth knowledge of IFRS/GAAP, financial reporting, and financial closing procedures, with a proven ability to ensure compliance and accuracy.
• Proficient experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or NetSuite, alongside advanced proficiency in Excel for data analysis and reporting.
• A strong preference for candidates with experience in multinational or shared-services environments, where cross-functional collaboration and global financial standards are essential.
