Senior Oracle Database Administrator – Lead Mission-Critical Database Operations at DXC Technology

DXC Technology is seeking a highly skilled Senior Oracle Database Administrator to lead the design, implementation, and optimization of enterprise-grade Oracle databases across hybrid environments. In this strategic role, you will oversee the full lifecycle of mission-critical databases—spanning on-premises infrastructure and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI)—ensuring high availability, performance, security, and seamless integration with Oracle’s flagship applications. This position demands deep expertise in Oracle’s latest database technologies, automation, and cloud-native solutions to support DXC’s global clients in Saudi Arabia and beyond.

As a key member of our database engineering team, you will architect and manage Oracle Database 19c, 21c, and the cutting-edge 23ai release, ensuring alignment with Oracle’s E-Business Suite, Siebel CRM, Billing & Revenue Management (BRM), and Oracle Fusion Cloud applications. Your work will directly impact operational efficiency, data integrity, and business continuity for critical enterprise systems.

Core Responsibilities

Your role will encompass a broad spectrum of technical and operational duties, including:

• On-Premises Database Administration
  - Design, deploy, and administer Oracle Database environments on Oracle Linux, RHEL, Solaris, and AIX, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
  - Manage Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC) and RAC One Node configurations, including Clusterware, voting disks, and SCAN listeners for high availability.
  - Oversee ASM disk groups, rebalancing strategies, and storage allocation to support scalable database workloads.
  - Execute database release updates and patches using OPatch and opatchauto with minimal downtime, aligning with application release cycles.
  - Administer Oracle Grid Infrastructure, TNS networking, listeners, and database links to facilitate seamless connectivity.
• Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) Expertise
  - Provision and administer OCI DB Systems, Exadata Cloud Service (ExaCS), and Exadata Cloud@Customer (ExaCC) for cloud-native deployments.
  - Manage Oracle Autonomous Database, including scaling, cloning, and workload management to optimize cloud efficiency.
  - Leverage OCI Database Management tools such as Operations Insights, Performance Hub, and Management Agent for proactive monitoring and administration.
  - Automate database provisioning and lifecycle tasks using Terraform with the OCI provider and OCI CLI, enhancing operational agility.
  - Configure secure database connectivity via private subnets, network security groups, and private endpoints to meet compliance requirements.
• Oracle Application Database Support
  - Administer Oracle E-Business Suite databases, including schema management, AD utilities, and database-tier patching synchronized with application releases.
  - Optimize Siebel CRM databases through schema tuning, tablespace management, and index maintenance to support high-performance CRM operations.
  - Manage Oracle BRM workloads, focusing on schema optimization, partitioning for event data, and performance tuning to ensure real-time billing and revenue management.
  - Support Oracle Fusion Cloud integrations, including staging databases, Oracle Integration Cloud connectivity, and hybrid database links for seamless data flow.
  - Collaborate with application teams to execute releases, schema changes, data migrations, and database modifications driven by evolving business requirements.
• High Availability and Disaster Recovery
  - Implement and maintain Oracle Data Guard, including physical and logical standby databases, to ensure data resilience and minimal downtime.
  - Design, test, and document switchover and failover procedures for both on-premises and OCI environments to guarantee business continuity.
  - Manage RMAN backups and recovery processes across disk, tape, OCI Object Storage, and Zero Data Loss Recovery Appliance to protect critical data.
  - Configure advanced recovery features such as Flashback Database, Flashback Table, and restore points for rapid incident response.
  - Utilize Oracle GoldenGate for replication, migration, and high-availability scenarios to synchronize data across environments.
• Performance Engineering and Optimization
  - Investigate and resolve performance bottlenecks using AWR, ASH, ADDM, SQL Tuning Advisor, and SQL Plan Management to ensure peak database efficiency.
  - Tune SQL execution plans, optimizer statistics, and resource allocation for application workloads, including EBS, Siebel, and BRM, to maximize throughput.
  - Configure Oracle Resource Manager for consolidated environments and PDB-level resource isolation to prevent performance conflicts.
  - Monitor and optimize I/O, SGA/PGA memory, and concurrency across RAC instances to support scalable, high-performance databases.
  - Conduct capacity planning and trend analysis to anticipate scaling needs and recommend proactive solutions.
• Security and Compliance
  - Implement robust security measures, including Transparent Data Encryption, Oracle Key Vault integration, and network encryption to protect sensitive data.
  - Configure Oracle Database Vault, Privilege Analysis, and Unified Auditing to enforce strict access controls and compliance requirements.
  - Develop and enforce security policies aligned with industry standards and organizational guidelines to mitigate risks.
