About the Role

We are currently seeking a highly skilled and resilient Mechanical Engineer to lead the design, installation, and commissioning of critical mechanical systems for a major infrastructure project in Tabuk, Saudi Arabia. This role is pivotal in delivering world-class engineering solutions tailored to the unique demands of a dynamic desert environment. The successful candidate will bring deep technical expertise in piping networks, HVAC/ducting systems, and high-capacity pumping stations to ensure the project’s success from concept to completion.

Key Responsibilities

As a Mechanical Engineer at Parsons, you will play a central role in shaping the project’s mechanical infrastructure. Your responsibilities will include:

• System Design & Review: Conduct thorough reviews and approvals of complex engineering drawings, calculations, and specifications for piping networks, ducting/HVAC systems, and pumping stations. Ensure all designs meet stringent international standards and client requirements.
• Construction Oversight: Provide on-site technical expertise to ensure seamless alignment between mechanical installations and project designs. Oversee compliance with international codes such as ASME and ASHRAE, as well as client-specific standards.
• Vendor & Equipment Evaluation: Lead the technical evaluation of procurement bids for critical components, including pumps, valves, piping materials, and HVAC equipment. Ensure all selected materials and systems meet quality, performance, and compliance criteria.
• Testing & Commissioning: Witness and certify essential tests, including pressure testing for piping systems, balancing for ducting systems, and performance testing for pumps and hydraulic systems. Validate that all systems operate at optimal efficiency before handover.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with civil, electrical, and structural engineering teams to resolve design conflicts, mitigate risks, and minimize field delays. Foster a collaborative environment to ensure cohesive project execution.

Required Qualifications

To excel in this role, you must possess the following qualifications and experience:

• Experience: Minimum of 7 years of direct experience in mechanical engineering, with a strong focus on piping networks, ducting systems, and pump systems. Prior involvement in large-scale infrastructure or industrial projects is highly desirable.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized university. Professional Engineer (PE) or Chartered Engineer (CEng) certification is a valuable asset.
• Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of fluid mechanics, pump hydraulics, stress analysis for piping systems, and duct static pressure calculations. Proficiency with industry-leading software such as Caesar II, Pipenet, AutoCAD, or Revit is strongly preferred.

Desired Qualifications

While not mandatory, the following attributes will enhance your candidacy for this role:

• Location/Adaptability: Willingness to relocate to and work full-time in the Tabuk region. Prior experience on large-scale infrastructure projects in Saudi Arabia, such as NEOM or the Red Sea Project, is a significant advantage.
• Communication: Fluency in English with exceptional technical writing skills. Ability to effectively interface with clients, contractors, and project stakeholders to convey complex technical information clearly and concisely.
