About the Role

We are seeking a seasoned GCP Infrastructure Expert to join our team at Aramco Digital, where you will play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and optimizing our Google Cloud Platform (GCP) environments. This position demands a high level of technical proficiency in GCP services, cloud governance, and automation frameworks, ensuring that our cloud infrastructure is secure, scalable, and fully aligned with enterprise and industry standards. As a Subject Matter Expert (SME), you will serve as the primary technical authority, providing guidance and leadership to drive operational excellence and innovation across our cloud operations.

Key Responsibilities

The GCP Infrastructure Expert will be responsible for a wide range of critical tasks, including:

• Cloud Environment Management: Administer and manage GCP environments, including Identity and Access Management (IAM), Virtual Private Cloud (VPC), interconnects, firewalls, service accounts, and resource hierarchies to ensure seamless and secure operations.
• Day-to-Day Operations: Oversee daily cloud operations, including monitoring, incident response, and platform health management, to maintain high availability and reliability.
• Best Practices Implementation: Collaborate with architects to implement network, compute, storage, and security best practices across GCP workloads, ensuring optimal performance and compliance.
• Solution Design and Implementation: Lead the design and implementation of secure, scalable, and cost-optimized GCP solutions, including services such as Compute Engine, Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE), Cloud SQL, BigQuery, and Cloud Storage.
• Compliance and Security: Ensure adherence to internal and industry-specific security standards, implementing robust security measures to protect our cloud infrastructure and data.
• Automation and Optimization: Develop and deploy automation solutions using tools such as Terraform, Deployment Manager, or CI/CD pipelines to streamline cloud operations and enhance efficiency. Monitor resource utilization and optimize costs to maximize the value of our GCP investments.
• Escalation and Troubleshooting: Serve as the L3 escalation point for GCP-related issues, performing in-depth root-cause analysis to resolve complex technical challenges and minimize downtime.

Qualifications and Experience

To qualify for this role, candidates must meet the following requirements:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Professional certifications such as Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect, Google Cloud Professional Cloud Security Engineer, Google Cloud Professional Cloud Network Engineer, and Terraform Associate are highly preferred.
• Experience: Minimum of 8–12 years of experience in managing enterprise cloud environments, with at least 5 years specifically focused on Google Cloud Platform administration.
• Technical Skills: A strong understanding of IAM, VPC networking, Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE), logging, automation, and Google Cloud CLI is essential. Proficiency in these areas will enable you to effectively design, deploy, and manage our GCP infrastructure.
