Manufacturing Supervisor
الوصف الوظيفي
Position Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Manufacturing Supervisor to oversee and optimize our production operations. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient execution of manufacturing activities while maintaining strict adherence to safety, quality, and schedule requirements. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in manufacturing supervision, a keen eye for process improvement, and the leadership skills necessary to drive operational excellence in a dynamic industrial environment.
Key Responsibilities
The Manufacturing Supervisor will play a critical role in coordinating and supervising daily manufacturing operations to meet production targets and customer commitments. Your core responsibilities will include:
- Production Planning and Execution: Supervise assigned manufacturing activities to ensure production plans are executed safely, efficiently, and in alignment with approved priorities. Coordinate daily work allocation, manpower utilization, equipment availability, and material readiness to support schedule adherence and timely order completion.
- Shop-Floor Leadership: Review daily production priorities, open work orders, pending operations, and critical customer requirements before assigning shop-floor activities. Monitor progress, update production status, identify constraints, and escalate risks related to capacity, materials, quality, or equipment downtime to senior management.
- Quality and Compliance: Ensure all manufacturing activities are performed according to approved drawings, work instructions, routings, quality requirements, and standard operating procedures. Support first-piece checks, coordinate in-process inspections, and facilitate the timely resolution of quality concerns to prevent repeat issues and production delays.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Act as a liaison between the shop floor and departments such as Planning, Engineering, Quality, Warehouse, Maintenance, and Customer Service to resolve operational issues and maintain workflow continuity. Ensure the availability and proper control of materials, drawings, tools, fixtures, gauges, and consumables before initiating production work.
- Performance Monitoring and Improvement: Track productivity metrics, rework, scrap, overtime, and non-conformance trends. Support corrective actions to enhance shop-floor performance and operational efficiency. Follow up on machine breakdowns, tooling issues, and maintenance requirements to minimize downtime and uphold production commitments.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of production quantities, completed operations, rework, scrap, delays, and shift remarks in applicable systems or reports. Prepare and maintain daily production records, attendance logs, overtime requirements, shift handovers, and other operational reports as required.
- Shift Management: Supervise day or night shift operations as assigned, ensuring proper shift coverage, continuity of production priorities, and clear communication between shifts. Conduct thorough shift handovers covering completed work, pending jobs, constraints, manpower status, and priority escalation items.
- Process Optimization: Support the implementation of improvement initiatives related to Lean manufacturing, 5S, cycle time reduction, standard work, and operational efficiency. Ensure tools, equipment, fixtures, and work areas are properly used, maintained, and available to support safe and uninterrupted production.
Required Skills and Qualifications
To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, or an equivalent field.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 to 7 years of hands-on experience in manufacturing operations, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or lead role preferred. Experience in oil and gas manufacturing or a similar industrial environment is a strong advantage.
- Technical Knowledge: In-depth understanding of manufacturing processes, production control methodologies, quality requirements, and shop-floor safety practices. Familiarity with Lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives is desirable.
- Leadership and Soft Skills: Proven ability to lead and motivate teams, solve complex problems, and coordinate cross-functional activities. Excellent communication, reporting, and documentation skills are essential.
- Technical Proficiency: Working knowledge of MS Office Suite and ERP systems, preferably Oracle Fusion, to manage production data and generate reports.
- Work Schedule: Willingness and ability to work in day or night shift schedules based on production and operational requirements, ensuring seamless continuity of operations.
