SPECIALIST - TECHNOLOGY PLANNING AND CONTROL

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Specialist - Technology Planning and Control to join our dynamic team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for overseeing the strategic planning, governance, performance management, budgeting, risk management, compliance, and reporting activities of our Technology Department. Key Responsibilities

The Specialist - Technology Planning and Control will play a critical role in shaping the future of our technology initiatives. Your core responsibilities will include:

• Strategic Planning and Governance: Develop, implement, and monitor comprehensive strategic plans and objectives for the Technology Department, ensuring they are in full alignment with the organization’s long-term vision and mission.
• Performance Management and Reporting: Coordinate and oversee the establishment of key performance indicators (KPIs) for the department. Design and maintain performance dashboards to provide real-time insights into operational efficiency and project delivery. Prepare executive-level reports to facilitate data-driven decision-making and budget execution tracking.
• Budgeting and Financial Oversight: Lead the technology budgeting process, including forecasting, allocation, and financial performance monitoring. Ensure that all financial activities adhere to corporate policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements, while optimizing resource utilization for maximum impact.
• Portfolio and Project Governance: Govern the technology budget project portfolio with a focus on transparency, accountability, and timely delivery. Track progress against milestones, identify potential risks, and implement corrective measures to ensure successful project outcomes.
• Risk Management and Compliance: Conduct thorough assessments of technology-related risks, ensuring robust mitigation strategies are in place. Monitor compliance with internal policies, industry regulations, and international standards such as ISO 27001 and ISO 20000. Coordinate audit activities to validate adherence to best practices and regulatory frameworks.
• Vendor Governance and SLA Monitoring: Establish and maintain strong governance frameworks for technology vendors. Monitor service level agreements (SLAs) to ensure vendors meet their contractual obligations, and address any performance gaps proactively.

Qualifications and Competencies

To excel in this role, you will bring a blend of technical expertise, financial acumen, and strategic thinking. The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and skills:

• Education: A Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a closely related field. Advanced degrees or relevant certifications will be considered advantageous.
• Professional Certifications: Preferred certifications include ITIL, PMP, COBIT, ISO 270001, ISO 20000, CISA, or CRISC, demonstrating a commitment to excellence in technology governance and risk management.
• Technical Knowledge: A strong foundation in IT Governance, Service Management, Risk Management, Budgeting, and adherence to ISO standards. Familiarity with financial management principles and corporate compliance frameworks is essential.
• Analytical and Communication Skills: Exceptional analytical abilities to interpret complex data and generate actionable insights. Strong communication skills to articulate findings and recommendations to stakeholders at all levels, from technical teams to executive leadership.
• Leadership and Collaboration: Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives, foster collaboration, and drive accountability within the Technology Department and across the organization.
