In this pivotal role, you will drive the innovative design, rigorous analysis, and meticulous documentation of complex heavy fabricated equipment, including pressure vessels, piping systems, and process equipment. Key Responsibilities

As a Design Engineer, your responsibilities will span multiple critical areas, ensuring seamless collaboration across engineering, operations, and project teams:

• Engineering Design & Code Compliance: Develop and validate detailed design calculations, technical drawings, and documentation in strict adherence to ASME codes (Section VIII, B31.3, B31.4, B31.8), NACE standards (MR0175/ISO 15156 for sour service), and international pipeline regulations. Perform mechanical stress analysis, thickness calculations, nozzle load evaluations, support design, and reinforcement assessments to guarantee safety, reliability, and regulatory compliance.
• 3D Modeling & Drafting Excellence: Utilize industry-leading software such as AutoCAD and SolidWorks to create precise 2D drawings and 3D models. Generate comprehensive deliverables including General Arrangement (GA) drawings, fabrication drawings, isometrics, and Bill of Materials (BOMs). Maintain strict revision control and document management to ensure accuracy and traceability.
• Material Selection & Corrosion Mitigation: Specify materials based on process conditions, corrosion resistance, and NACE requirements, ensuring alignment with ASTM, ASME, and API standards. Review Material Test Certificates (MTCs) to confirm compliance and mitigate corrosion risks in high-stakes environments.
• Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Act as a technical liaison between engineering, production, planning, QA/QC, and procurement teams. Provide real-time support during fabrication, welding, and inspection phases, resolving technical queries and addressing shop floor challenges with expertise.
• Customer & Vendor Engagement: Interpret and translate complex customer specifications, datasheets, and Requests for Quotation (RFQs) into actionable design solutions. Collaborate closely with clients, third-party inspectors, and consultants to secure approvals and ensure seamless project execution.
• Design Review & Validation: Lead internal design reviews and risk assessments, including HAZOP studies where applicable, to validate compliance before fabrication. Compile thorough documentation for audits and regulatory submissions, ensuring transparency and accountability.
• Documentation & Deliverables Management: Prepare and submit high-impact deliverables such as design calculation reports, fabrication drawings, material specifications, and technical submittals. Implement and maintain an efficient engineering document control system to streamline workflows and enhance project delivery.
• Innovation & Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to optimize designs for cost efficiency and manufacturability. Standardize design practices and stay ahead of industry advancements by continuously updating your knowledge of evolving codes and best practices.

Qualifications & Experience

Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and 5–10 years of hands-on experience in the design of heavy fabricated equipment, with a strong foundation in:

• Pressure vessel and piping system design
• Welding techniques, WPS/PQR requirements, and fabrication processes
• ASME Section VIII, B31.3, B31.4, and B31.8 codes
• NACE MR0175/ISO 15156 for sour service applications
• Experience in the oil & gas, EPC, or fabrication industries
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and SolidWorks (FEA tools are a significant advantage)
