As a key member of our finance function, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the accuracy, efficiency, and compliance of financial operations for our global clients in the energy and materials sectors. This is an exceptional opportunity to contribute to meaningful, high-impact projects that shape the future of sustainable energy and infrastructure, while advancing your career in a forward-thinking organization.

Your Impact: Transforming Financial Operations for Global Projects

At Wood, we are committed to delivering advanced facilities and predictable, safe, and fast project execution worldwide. As a Senior Accountant, you will be at the heart of this mission, overseeing critical financial processes, ensuring compliance with global accounting standards, and supporting the financial health of our diverse portfolio of projects. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Shared Services, Project Controls, and Finance, to maintain robust financial controls and drive operational excellence.

Your responsibilities will encompass a broad range of high-level accounting functions, including revenue recognition, month-end closing, reconciliations, and statutory reporting. You will leverage your expertise in Oracle ERP to validate transactions, monitor aging reports, and track contract assets and liabilities, ensuring alignment with internal policies and regulatory requirements. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with a passion for financial accuracy and a drive to contribute to Wood’s vision of a lower-carbon future.

Key Responsibilities

  • Revenue Management: Lead end-to-end revenue activities, including revenue recognition calculations, month-end revenue entries, and project-related reconciliations to ensure accurate and compliant financial reporting.
  • Financial Oversight: Review and validate Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP) transactions processed by the Shared Services team, with a focus on monitoring aging reports, collections status, and supplier balances.
  • Month-End Closing: Prepare and oversee month-end closing journals, reconciliations, and supporting schedules to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Contract & Liability Tracking: Maintain meticulous records of contract assets and liabilities, ensuring compliance with accounting policies and regulatory standards.
  • Collaboration & Coordination: Work closely with Shared Services, Project Controls, and Finance teams to streamline processes, resolve discrepancies, and support project financial integrity.
  • Compliance & Controls: Ensure adherence to internal controls, accounting policies, and statutory reporting requirements, mitigating risks and enhancing financial governance.

Your Qualifications & Experience

To excel in this role, you will bring a strong academic foundation and extensive hands-on experience in accounting and financial management. The ideal candidate will meet the following criteria:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive accounting experience, with a proven track record in financial reporting, revenue recognition, and statutory compliance.
  • In-depth knowledge of Accounts Receivable (AR), Accounts Payable (AP), and Revenue processes, with a strong understanding of financial controls and risk management.
  • Proficiency in Oracle ERP or similar enterprise resource planning systems, with the ability to navigate complex financial modules and generate insightful reports.
  • Expertise in management reporting and statutory reporting, with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across global teams.
