Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Structural Engineer to join our dynamic consultancy team. In this pivotal role, you will be entrusted with the critical responsibility of leading the structural analysis, design, supervision, and technical development of a diverse portfolio of building projects. Your expertise will be instrumental in collaborating with architects, engineers, clients, contractors, and other key stakeholders to deliver structurally sound, cost-effective, and compliant solutions that meet the highest standards of safety, efficiency, and innovation.

Key Responsibilities

Structural Design & Analysis

• Conduct comprehensive structural analysis and design for a wide range of projects, including residential, commercial, governmental, and institutional buildings.
• Develop and optimize structural systems using reinforced concrete, steel, and other materials to ensure optimal performance, cost efficiency, and constructability.
• Prepare detailed structural calculations, design reports, and technical documentation in accordance with project specifications and regulatory requirements.
• Create precise structural layouts, detailed drawings, sections, and construction documents to guide the execution of projects.
• Ensure all designs adhere to the Saudi Building Code (SBC), international standards, and project-specific requirements, with a focus on safety, stability, durability, and compliance.
• Perform value engineering assessments to identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements without compromising structural integrity.

Design Coordination

• Collaborate closely with architectural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) teams, as well as other engineering disciplines, to ensure seamless integration of structural systems within the overall project design.
• Review architectural drawings to identify structural requirements, potential conflicts, and constructability challenges, providing proactive solutions to mitigate risks.
• Participate in design coordination meetings, offering technical expertise and innovative solutions to resolve interdisciplinary challenges.
• Oversee Building Information Modeling (BIM) processes to ensure accurate representation and integration of structural components within the project model.
• Identify and resolve clashes between structural elements and other disciplines, ensuring a cohesive and conflict-free design.

Technical Documentation

• Prepare, review, and approve comprehensive structural design calculations, technical reports, and specifications to support project execution and regulatory submissions.
• Evaluate shop drawings, material submittals, and technical submissions from contractors to ensure alignment with approved designs and standards.
• Respond promptly and accurately to Requests for Information (RFIs) and technical queries related to structural works, providing clear and actionable guidance.
• Maintain meticulous records of all technical documentation, ensuring traceability and compliance throughout the project lifecycle.

Construction Support & Site Supervision

• Conduct regular site visits and inspections to verify that structural works are executed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor construction progress, identify structural issues or deviations, and recommend corrective actions to maintain project integrity.
• Provide on-site technical clarification to contractors and site teams, ensuring a clear understanding of structural requirements and expectations.
• Review structural shop drawings, method statements, and construction methodologies to ensure they align with design intent and industry best practices.
• Collaborate with quality assurance teams to address non-conformities and implement corrective measures to uphold structural safety and compliance.

Quality & Compliance

• Ensure all structural designs, calculations, and drawings meet or exceed applicable codes, standards, and authority requirements, including the Saudi Building Code (SBC) and international benchmarks.
• Uphold the highest standards of engineering quality, technical accuracy, and professional integrity in all deliverables.
• Participate in design reviews, technical audits, and peer checks to validate the accuracy and reliability of structural documentation.
• Support the preparation and submission of structural documentation to relevant authorities, ensuring timely approvals and compliance with regulatory processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering or a related field from an accredited institution.
• Professional registration with the Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE) is mandatory.
• Minimum of 7 to 10 years of progressive experience in structural engineering and building design consultancy, with a proven track record of delivering complex projects.
• In-depth knowledge of reinforced concrete and steel structures, including design methodologies, load calculations, and material specifications.
• Familiarity with the Saudi Building Code (SBC) and relevant international standards, such as ACI, AISC, Eurocodes, and IBC.

Technical Proficiency

• Proficient in industry-standard structural analysis and design software, including AutoCAD, ETABS, SAFE, SAP2000, and Revit Structure.
• Strong working knowledge of Building Information Modeling (BIM) tools and methodologies.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for documentation and reporting.
• Familiarity with additional structural software as required by project specifications.
