Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and professional Steward to join our esteemed team in Al Khobar, Saudi Arabia. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional service by serving food and beverages to guests in a courteous, efficient, and flexible manner. Your commitment to upholding the highest standards of the hotel and Kempinski’s reputation will be essential in driving guest satisfaction and encouraging sales. This position requires a meticulous attention to detail, a proactive approach to cleanliness, and a strong ability to collaborate within a dynamic hospitality environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Service Excellence: Provide a professional and courteous service at all times, setting a positive example for colleagues in the assigned outlet. Ensure that all guests receive a seamless and memorable dining experience.
• Cleanliness and Organization: Maintain a pristine and well-organized workspace and surrounding areas. Execute and enforce the highest standards of cleanliness and service set-up to reflect the hotel’s commitment to excellence.
• Product and Equipment Knowledge: Develop a comprehensive understanding of all services and products offered by the hotel to effectively assist guests and promote offerings. Monitor operating supplies and equipment to minimize spoilage and wastage while ensuring efficient use.
• Compliance and Safety: Strictly adhere to the hotel’s policy manual, as well as fire, hygiene, health, and safety regulations. Report any equipment malfunctions or failures immediately and handle all provided machinery with responsibility and care.
• Professional Appearance and Conduct: Report to duty punctually, dressed in the correct uniform, which must be clean, well-pressed, and complemented by appropriate safety shoes and a nametag. Maintain impeccable personal hygiene and a polished appearance at all times.
• Team Collaboration: Foster a positive working relationship with colleagues across all departments to ensure smooth operations and a cohesive team environment. Support the Head of Department in executing tasks and achieving departmental goals.
• Adaptability and Secondary Duties: Demonstrate flexibility by undertaking reasonable tasks and secondary duties as assigned by the Department Head. Respond promptly to any changes or demands dictated by hotel management to maintain operational efficiency.
• Inventory and Waste Management: Assist in conducting scheduled inventories of products and operating equipment. Ensure strict adherence to garbage regulations, including proper separation of items and timely garbage disposal runs.
• Cleaning and Maintenance: Perform general cleaning duties as required, including washing dishes, pots, pans, and other kitchen equipment to established performance standards. Utilize dishwashing machines and appropriate cleaning chemicals with proficiency and care.
• Additional Responsibilities: Be prepared to take on any other reasonable duties and responsibilities as assigned, in alignment with the evolving needs of the business and the hotel.

Qualifications and Skills

To excel in this role, candidates should possess a strong work ethic, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Prior experience in a similar role within the hospitality industry is advantageous but not mandatory. Fluency in English is preferred, and the ability to communicate effectively with guests and colleagues is essential. A commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness, safety, and service will be critical to success in this position.
