Key Responsibilities

• Team Leadership: Provide strategic direction and mentorship to a high-performing engineering team, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and technical excellence. Lead by example to inspire and motivate team members to achieve their full potential.
• Technical Oversight: Oversee the design, development, and implementation of scalable, robust, and secure software solutions. Ensure adherence to industry best practices, coding standards, and architectural principles while driving continuous improvement in system performance and reliability.
• Project Management: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, and stakeholders, to define project scope, timelines, and deliverables. Utilize agile methodologies to streamline workflows, mitigate risks, and ensure timely project execution.
• Innovation and Growth: Identify emerging technologies and industry trends to drive innovation within the engineering department. Champion process improvements, automation initiatives, and knowledge-sharing practices to enhance operational efficiency and team productivity.
• Quality Assurance: Establish and enforce rigorous quality assurance processes to ensure the delivery of high-performance, bug-free products. Implement automated testing frameworks, performance monitoring tools, and rigorous code reviews to maintain the highest standards of software quality.
• Stakeholder Communication: Act as a liaison between the engineering team and senior leadership, providing transparent updates on project progress, challenges, and milestones. Foster strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to align engineering initiatives with business objectives.
• Talent Development: Identify skill gaps within the team and implement targeted training and development programs to upskill engineers. Encourage a culture of lifelong learning and professional growth to retain top talent and attract high-caliber candidates.

Qualifications and Skills

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s degree or relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, Scrum Master) is a plus.
• Experience: Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive experience in software engineering, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership or management role. Proven track record of successfully leading engineering teams in delivering complex, large-scale projects.
• Technical Proficiency: Deep expertise in software development methodologies, programming languages (e.g., Java, Python, JavaScript), and modern frameworks. Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure), DevOps practices, and CI/CD pipelines is highly desirable.
• Leadership and Soft Skills: Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills. Ability to inspire and mentor teams, resolve conflicts, and drive a culture of collaboration and innovation.
• Industry Knowledge: Understanding of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in software engineering. Awareness of cybersecurity principles and compliance standards (e.g., ISO, GDPR) is advantageous.
• Location: Must be based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, or willing to relocate.
