Head of Business Development - Middle East

Position Overview

Alpaca is seeking a dynamic and strategic Head of Business Development for the Middle East to lead our expansion efforts in the region. This pivotal role will be responsible for identifying, cultivating, and securing high-impact business opportunities that drive revenue growth and strengthen our market presence. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of the Middle Eastern business landscape, exceptional negotiation skills, and a proven track record of building and managing high-performing teams. Reporting directly to the Executive Leadership Team, this role will play a critical part in shaping Alpaca’s future in one of the world’s most dynamic economic regions.

Key Responsibilities

• Market Expansion & Strategy: Develop and execute a comprehensive business development strategy tailored to the Middle East, aligning with Alpaca’s long-term growth objectives. Conduct thorough market research to identify emerging trends, competitive dynamics, and untapped opportunities.
• Client Acquisition & Relationship Management: Lead end-to-end client acquisition efforts, from initial outreach to contract negotiation and closure. Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with key stakeholders, including government entities, corporate clients, and industry partners.
• Partnership Development: Identify and forge strategic partnerships with local and international organizations to enhance Alpaca’s market reach and capabilities. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate partnership initiatives into broader business goals.
• Revenue Growth & Performance Tracking: Drive revenue generation by setting and exceeding ambitious sales targets. Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the effectiveness of business development initiatives and adjust strategies as needed to optimize results.
• Team Leadership & Mentorship: Recruit, train, and mentor a high-performing business development team in the Middle East. Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and collaboration to ensure sustained success.
• Regulatory & Compliance Adherence: Ensure all business development activities comply with local laws, regulations, and corporate policies. Stay abreast of geopolitical and economic developments that may impact Alpaca’s operations in the region.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Represent Alpaca at industry events, conferences, and high-level meetings to enhance brand visibility and credibility. Serve as a thought leader and advocate for Alpaca’s solutions in the Middle East.

Qualifications & Skills

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a related field. An MBA or advanced degree is a plus.
• Experience: Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in business development, sales, or a related field, with at least 5 years in a leadership role. Prior experience in the Middle East is highly preferred.
• Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of the Middle Eastern market, including its economic drivers, regulatory environment, and cultural nuances. Familiarity with industries such as technology, finance, energy, or infrastructure is advantageous.
• Leadership & Communication: Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate teams. Strong verbal and written communication skills, with proficiency in Arabic and English; additional languages are a plus.
• Strategic Thinking: Proven ability to develop and implement long-term business strategies that deliver measurable results. Strong analytical skills with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
• Networking & Negotiation: Extensive network of contacts in the Middle East, coupled with exceptional negotiation and deal-closing abilities. Ability to navigate complex business environments and build consensus among diverse stakeholders.
