Drilling Services Applications Engineer

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Drilling Services Applications Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this critical role, you will play a pivotal part in delivering flawless execution across pre-planning, job execution, and post-job analysis phases. Your expertise will ensure that projects are completed efficiently, safely, and in alignment with client objectives while maximizing revenue potential and future job assignments. This position requires seamless collaboration with Service Delivery Coordinators and cross-functional teams to integrate all application constraints and deliver exceptional results.

Key Responsibilities

As a Drilling Services Applications Engineer, your core responsibilities will include:

• Job Cycle Management: Ensuring strict adherence to the Manage the Job Cycle (MtJC) process to guarantee seamless project execution from initiation to completion.
• Client Collaboration: Partnering with assigned Service Delivery Coordinators and Sales personnel to fully understand client well construction or production objectives, translating these into actionable engineering solutions.
• Engineering Design & Risk Mitigation: Designing well profiles and executing application engineering tasks, including the development of comprehensive risk mitigation and contingency plans. Your work will directly contribute to meeting client objectives while optimizing revenue potential and securing future project opportunities for Baker Hughes.
• Incident Management: Addressing field incidents related to products or services, actively participating in incident investigations, and ensuring end-to-end process improvements to prevent recurrence.
• Sales & Technical Support: Providing expert sales support and product application recommendations to drive customer satisfaction and business growth.

Qualifications & Experience

To excel in this role, you must possess the following qualifications and experience:

• A bachelor’s degree in engineering or a relevant technical field.
• A minimum of seven years of experience in the oil and gas industry, with at least three years dedicated to application engineering within well construction.
• Proven prior experience as an Application Engineer in Well Construction with Baker Hughes.
• Strong leadership capabilities, including the ability to manage, develop, coach, and mentor teams across organizational boundaries.
• Availability to be on call outside of normal business hours to address critical operational needs.
• In-depth understanding of profit and loss (P/L) metrics and technical job planning requirements.
• Willingness and ability to travel frequently to rig sites, customer facilities, and meetings as required.
