Position Overview

Key Responsibilities

The Director of Finance will play a critical role in shaping the financial future of the property by performing the following core duties:

• Strategic Financial Leadership: Develop and implement property-wide financial strategies that enhance profitability, optimize cost structures, and identify new revenue opportunities. Conduct thorough financial analyses to forecast sales, expenses, and budget variances, ensuring alignment with the brand’s long-term objectives.
• Budgeting and Financial Planning: Create and oversee the annual operating budget, integrating insights from operational departments to ensure accuracy and feasibility. Monitor actual financial performance against projections, providing actionable recommendations to improve efficiency and productivity.
• Risk Management and Compliance: Establish and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard assets, mitigate financial risks, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards. Lead internal and external audit processes, fostering a culture of transparency and accountability across the organization.
• Stakeholder Engagement and Communication: Act as a trusted advisor to the General Manager and executive leadership, presenting financial insights in a clear and persuasive manner. Collaborate closely with property owners, corporate teams, and key stakeholders to align financial strategies with their priorities and expectations.
• Team Leadership and Development: Provide visionary leadership to the finance team, assigning clear roles and responsibilities while fostering a high-performance culture. Conduct regular performance evaluations, mentor team members, and champion professional growth to build a resilient and capable finance function.
• Data-Driven Decision Making: Leverage financial data and market trends to inform strategic decisions, identifying opportunities for innovation and cost optimization. Develop comprehensive business plans that integrate financial goals with operational realities, ensuring sustainable growth.

Qualifications and Experience

To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following educational and professional criteria:

• Education: A bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field is required. A master’s degree in a relevant discipline is highly desirable and may substitute for one year of professional experience.
• Experience: A minimum of three years of progressive experience in finance, accounting, or a related field is essential. Candidates with prior leadership experience in a hospitality, real estate, or corporate finance environment will be given preference.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in financial software, ERP systems, and advanced Excel is required. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to interpret complex financial data are critical.
