Lead Field Engineer – Electrical: Driving Excellence in Large-Scale Electrical Infrastructure

As the Lead Field Engineer, you will serve as the technical authority for all electrical engineering activities, ensuring that power distribution, substations, transformers, switchgear, UPS systems, lighting, grounding, and low-voltage systems are installed, tested, and commissioned in strict alignment with approved designs, project specifications, and international standards. Your expertise will be instrumental in driving the successful execution of large-scale developments, including convention centers, hotels, resorts, mixed-use complexes, and commercial towers.
Key Responsibilities
Your role will encompass a broad spectrum of responsibilities, demanding both technical precision and strategic leadership:
- Technical Leadership and Supervision: Lead and oversee all electrical site engineering and inspection activities, ensuring adherence to approved drawings, project specifications, and contractual obligations throughout the project lifecycle.
- Quality and Compliance Assurance: Monitor and verify electrical construction works to guarantee compliance with international standards, local regulations, and utility requirements. Conduct rigorous site inspections, quality audits, and witness critical testing phases, including Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT).
- Contractor and Team Coordination: Direct electrical engineers, inspectors, and specialist consultants, fostering collaboration with contractors, architects, structural engineers, MEP teams, and ICT specialists to resolve technical challenges and interface issues.
- Documentation and Approval Processes: Review and approve electrical shop drawings, material submittals, method statements, and technical submissions, ensuring alignment with project requirements and design intent.
- Risk Management and Problem-Solving: Identify technical risks, construction challenges, and interface conflicts, proposing proactive solutions to mitigate delays and ensure smooth project progression.
- Testing, Commissioning, and Handover: Oversee the testing, commissioning, and operational readiness of electrical systems, managing snagging, de-snagging, and punch list activities to achieve flawless project delivery and handover.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Actively participate in coordination meetings, design reviews, and progress workshops, representing the technical perspective to key stakeholders and project teams.
- Mentorship and Knowledge Transfer: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and inspectors, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and expertise development.
- Reporting and Documentation: Support progress measurement, payment certification, and project reporting, ensuring transparent communication of technical milestones and compliance status.

Qualifications and Experience
We are seeking a distinguished professional with the following qualifications and experience:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized institution. A Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Project Management is highly desirable.
- Certifications: Professional Engineer (PE), Chartered Engineer, or PMP certification is a significant advantage, reflecting your commitment to professional excellence.
- Experience: Minimum of 12+ years of professional experience in electrical engineering and construction supervision, with at least 7 years in a lead electrical supervision role on major building projects. Proven experience in large-scale developments, including convention centers, hotels, resorts, mixed-use complexes, airports, or commercial towers.
- Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of electrical systems, including power distribution, substations, transformers, switchgear, generators, UPS systems, lighting, grounding, fire alarm systems, and low-voltage (ELV) installations. Familiarity with building systems integration and adherence to international standards such as IEC, NFPA, and local Saudi regulations.
- Industry Environment: Extensive experience within Site Supervision Consultancy, Project Management Consultancy (PMC), or Engineering Consultancy environments, demonstrating adaptability and leadership in complex project settings.
- Soft Skills: Exceptional communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills to navigate diverse project challenges with confidence and diplomacy.
