About the Role

INTECH Automation Intelligence is seeking a dedicated and safety-conscious Work Permit Receiver to join our esteemed team of automation professionals. This critical position plays an integral role in ensuring the safe and efficient execution of industrial automation projects across diverse sectors, including Oil & Gas, Petrochemicals, Utilities, and Manufacturing. As a Work Permit Receiver, you will serve as the linchpin between project execution teams and safety compliance, guaranteeing that all work activities adhere to stringent safety protocols and regulatory standards.

Your Responsibilities

In this pivotal role, you will be entrusted with the following key responsibilities to uphold safety and operational excellence:

• Permit Review and Compliance: Thoroughly review, understand, and validate work permits to ensure alignment with project requirements and safety standards. Verify that all permits—such as Hot Work, Cold Work, Confined Space, Electrical Work, and others—are properly categorized and contain comprehensive approvals, risk assessments, and safety measures.
• Safety Protocol Enforcement: Ensure strict adherence to Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures, isolation plans, and other critical safety protocols throughout the project lifecycle. Maintain meticulous documentation of all work permits from initiation to closure.
• Pre-Job Safety Assurance: Conduct pre-job safety briefings to ensure all personnel fully comprehend permit conditions, work scope, and potential hazards. Inspect worksites for environmental risks, including H2S and other hazards, and verify the availability and proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• On-Site Monitoring and Coordination: Actively monitor work activities to ensure full compliance with safety protocols and permit conditions. Serve as the primary liaison between the permit issuer (e.g., Permit Coordinator or Site Supervisor) and the work crew, facilitating seamless communication of any changes, additional requirements, or safety concerns.
• Documentation and Closure: Maintain accurate records of work permit documentation throughout the job duration. Upon completion, ensure proper housekeeping, worksite restoration, and sign-off on completed work before returning permits to the issuing authority for formal closure.
• Risk Assessment and JSA Review: Demonstrate proficiency in interpreting Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and Risk Assessments to identify potential hazards and mitigate risks proactively.

Requirements and Qualifications

To excel in this role, you must meet the following criteria:

• Educational Background: A Diploma of Associate Engineer (DAE) in Electrical or Instrumentation is required.
• Professional Experience: Minimum of 3 years of relevant industrial experience, with a strong understanding of industrial safety standards and work permit systems. Experience in Oil & Gas or Petrochemical environments is highly preferred.
• Regional Experience: Prior work experience in Saudi Arabia or possession of a transferable Iqama and a valid driving license is advantageous.
• Language Proficiency: Fluency in English, both written and verbal, is essential to ensure clear communication with international teams and stakeholders.
