Associate Cybersecurity Analyst - Saudi Aramco SMP

Position Overview

Saudi Aramco - SMP is seeking a highly motivated Associate Cybersecurity Analyst to join our dynamic team in Dhahran. This role is designed for cybersecurity professionals with 2 to 5 years of hands-on experience in security operations, log analysis, and Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) technologies. As a key member of our cybersecurity team, you will play a critical role in safeguarding our organization’s digital assets by monitoring, detecting, and responding to security incidents with precision and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Security Monitoring and Incident Response: Conduct continuous monitoring of security alerts and events using advanced SIEM tools to identify potential threats. Investigate and analyze security incidents to determine their scope, impact, and root cause, ensuring timely containment and resolution.
• Log Analysis and Management: Utilize Splunk and other log management platforms to collect, correlate, and analyze log data from diverse sources. Develop and refine queries to extract actionable insights, enabling proactive threat detection and mitigation.
• SIEM Administration: Configure, maintain, and optimize SIEM solutions to enhance detection capabilities and reduce false positives. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to fine-tune security policies and ensure alignment with industry best practices.
• Threat Intelligence Integration: Stay abreast of the latest cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, and attack vectors. Integrate threat intelligence feeds into security monitoring processes to bolster our defensive posture against emerging risks.
• Collaboration and Reporting: Work closely with IT teams, security engineers, and management to communicate security risks, incidents, and trends. Prepare detailed reports and presentations for stakeholders, highlighting key findings and recommending strategic improvements.
• Compliance and Governance: Assist in ensuring compliance with internal policies and external regulatory requirements. Participate in audits and assessments to validate the effectiveness of security controls and remediation efforts.

Qualifications and Skills

To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

• Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a closely related field is required.
• Experience: A minimum of 2 to 5 years of relevant experience in cybersecurity, with a focus on security operations, log analysis, or SIEM technologies.
• Technical Proficiency:
  • In-depth knowledge of Splunk, Cribl, SIEM platforms, and log analysis methodologies.
  • Strong understanding of Windows and Linux administration, networking fundamentals, and database systems.
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity operations, including incident response, vulnerability management, and threat hunting.
  • Basic scripting skills in Python or PowerShell to automate repetitive tasks and enhance security workflows.
  • Working knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Certifications: Splunk Power User and Splunk Administration certifications are mandatory for this position.
• Soft Skills: Excellent analytical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with teams across the organization.
