As a **Senior Server OS Administrator**, you will be responsible for end-to-end lifecycle management of operating systems, from provisioning and hardening to automation, performance tuning, and compliance enforcement. Your strategic leadership will optimize operational efficiency, enhance security posture, and support the availability of enterprise-grade compute environments—both in the cloud and on-premises. Key Responsibilities

Your expertise will be instrumental in the following critical areas:

• OCI Compute and Infrastructure Management
  Design, deploy, and manage Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) compute resources, including virtual machines, Bare Metal, and Flex shapes running Oracle Linux, RHEL, and Windows Server. Configure instance metadata, cloud-init scripts, and custom images to ensure standardized, repeatable deployments across environments. Build and maintain golden images and image pipelines to streamline provisioning workflows while optimizing resource utilization.
• Advanced Linux Administration
  Administer Oracle Linux 8/9 and RHEL 8/9 with precision, tuning kernel parameters, sysctl settings, Huge Pages, and NUMA configurations to maximize performance for enterprise workloads. Manage package repositories, LVM configurations, and advanced storage solutions such as ext4, XFS, OCFS2, multipath, and iSCSI. Leverage Oracle Ksplice for zero-downtime kernel patching and ensure seamless integration with Unbreakable Linux Network (ULN) for enterprise-grade support.
• Windows Server Expertise
  Lead the administration of Windows Server 2019, 2022, and 2025 environments within OCI and hybrid setups, including Active Directory Domain Services, Group Policy, DNS, and DHCP. Manage critical server roles such as IIS, File Server, WSUS, and Failover Clustering to ensure high availability and scalability. Implement Remote Desktop Services and Windows Admin Center for efficient remote management while enforcing robust security controls like Windows Defender, Windows Firewall, and security baselines.
• Patching and Lifecycle Management
  Develop and execute comprehensive patching strategies for Oracle Linux, RHEL, and Windows Server, utilizing OCI OS Management Hub and enterprise tools. Align patching schedules with change management processes, coordinate rollback plans, and ensure compliance across development, staging, and production environments. Monitor OS support lifecycles, end-of-life dates, and upgrade requirements to minimize operational risks.
• Security Hardening and Compliance
  Apply industry-leading security benchmarks, such as CIS guidelines, to harden Linux and Windows Server instances. Implement OS-level encryption using LUKS or BitLocker, integrate with OCI Vault for secure key management, and enforce strict access controls through PAM, sudoers, and certificate-based authentication. Configure audit logging, Windows Event Forwarding, and OCI Logging to support compliance activities and incident response efforts.
• Networking and Connectivity Optimization
  Configure OCI VNIC attachments, secondary VNICs, and OS-level network bonding or teaming to ensure high availability and fault tolerance. Manage DNS resolution, NTP/Chrony synchronization, and host-based routing while aligning firewall configurations with OCI Security Lists and network security groups. Troubleshoot connectivity issues, including MTU, TCP latency, and network performance bottlenecks, to maintain seamless operations.
• Automation and Process Improvement
  Drive automation initiatives to reduce manual intervention and improve operational efficiency. Develop scripts and workflows for provisioning, patching, and compliance monitoring, leveraging tools such as Ansible, Terraform, or custom solutions. Collaborate with DevOps and engineering teams to integrate OS management practices into CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code (IaC) strategies.
